We are in front of a Super Market walking along with my friends and other Pedestrian when a person wearing a black attire all around his body covering even his face leaving a space for his eyes to see, was grabbed and bitten almost to death by a group of three to five men. Everybody was caught unaware and shock and could not help but to witnessed the group mauling the person on black. After the squabble the group of men talked to the crowd and allegedly the person is a snatcher. Another crowed was shouting that it was not true for they have apprehended the actual snatcher. The person they mentioned is also wearing exactly the same attire of the person on their hands. The suspect still wearing a black attire was apprehended and the valuable belongings of the group was recovered. The problems was they are detained for a case of serious physical injuries. Later it was learned that the person they mauled is a female and is a Muslim and is truly innocent and the snatcher is a male and was caught while about to changed clothes by the bystander.

How disgusting...to think that in this day and age creatures would be so base as to bite someone else...It is a bit dangerous too considering the diseases that they could catch from getting the blood in their mouths.

For some reasons I think the OP meant 'beaten' instead of 'bitten'...

First and foremost it's horrible to attack someone like this. On the other hand I truly believe that no-one should be all covered up.

Yes, supposedly it must be but allegedly it was part of their beliefs for a certain reasons, I also agree that wearing such attires must only done on a solemn place for worship. The men who mauled the lady was also brought to detention cell.

Where did this incident happen? I'm guessing this happened in the Philippines right? Those men who mauled the lady should be locked up for serious physical injuries and assault. They should have captured their suspected thief first and brought him to the police station instead of mauling him. Turns out that him was a her and not their target and if they didn't maul that person, they could have gotten away with falsely accusing her.

It was really a surprising day for us to witnessed with people around on halt and some running for safety. The woman's was with a very little white marks on her left side same as the snatcher's attire as presented to the arresting Officers.

Clearly a mistaken identity. But even if they the group of men were wrong for thinking that it was the snatcher, still they need to be charged for assaulting the innocent person.

Yeah, really but the problem accordingly is that, they are not supposed to walk in public with whole body fully covered by their dress. At that time there are only three of them walking with the same attire and the lady who was mauled rapidly was with markings exactly as what the snatcher was wearing. The men and the snatcher was brought to the detention cell and the woman to the nearest hospital for treatment. It was the companion of the woman who asked for help that resulted to the immediate arrest of the snatcher.
