- Firstly make him understand the basics. - If he is weak in remembering lessons, just go for a topic on that day and make him understand on that and then take lessons on that, not serial wise, you can also juggle the questions. - Take tests on the topics that you taught him the earlier day. - Tell him not to learn lessons just "by heart", rather to learn by understanding.

Thanks. I tutor my two cousin brothers and few of their friends, they are all in school grade. So, as I'm their relative, they always take their studies lightly, that's why I have to teach them in new exciting ways so that they can get that excitement in learning which eventually helps them in their studies.

First thing first... All children have special needs. If you noticed, some teachings are can be understood by the others, some don't. There are fast students and there are slow. 2. Does the child with "special needs" probably diagnosed? What kind of learning disabilities this child has? There are 4 kinds of learning disabilities, (this is assuming that the child has no other physical and mental manifestations in the likes of down syndrome and with autism). http://www.education.com/topic/special-needs/ this link may help you see for yourself. This can help you easily identify what kind of special needs of the child. Though you are not allowed to diagnosed the child by yourself. 3. If the child is diagnosed by the Developmental Pediatrician or someone who can run some tests and determine if the child really needs special education. 4. If it is really difficult for the child, better consult and follow the doctor's advice. 5. Learning for him could be frustrating... So, make him a special exams which is easier and non frustrating... 6. Have some one to run test to him (this is URGENT.

Ordinary and special children need variations in learning. so you can also apply these to ordinary children

Hello there, I also have students just like your student. What I do is to repeat my lessons everyday. This way, they will recall the past lessons. You can also add lessons bit by bit as you review the past. Hope this helps!
