I often experience having headache after waking up specially during Sundays where I usually sit down and watch TV all day and certain time during the week when I sleep around 4pm and get up by 6-7pm. My girlfriend told me that waking up at 6-7pm will really cause headache.
Did you experience this lately?

It seems that you are lacking sleep. Try to sleep for at least 7 hours each day. Lack of sleep can cause headaches, so when we are getting too much sleep. A good sleep plays an important role in thinking and learning. Lack of sleep can affect many things. First, interfering with alertness, concentration, reasoning, and problem solving. This makes learning difficult and inefficient. Second, the sleep cycle at night plays a role in "strengthening" the memory in mind. If you do not get enough sleep, then you will not be able to remember what you have learned and experienced during the day.

It seems my headache is caused by the lack of sleep. I really sleep late at night, the earliest would be 11pm and that is pretty late considering I always wake up around 6-7am

I do experience getting those headaches after a nap. So that is one reason why I rarely take a nap, until I am really sick.

Dear friend,
Hope it would be better to consult with a doctor. On other side I feel it would be lack of a good sleep, still there is much to sleep left. But I feel such matters would be taken to doctor before misjudging it and making our mind a mess. Hope soon your headache will be no more....

a pleasant day kenshin2143,
sleeping in those times as you have stated does not have anything to do with your headache. what you are experiencing is an effect of a certain thing. are you already using an eyeglass? if not, try to check that angle, maybe that headache deals with your eyesight. or maybe you are having a mild migraine that you need to drink an immediate relief, taking a paracetamol might be a good solution. or sometimes, you just need to complete your sleeping cycle which is an 8-hour sleeping time. i have already experienced what you have posted, and its just start as a mild headache. so i am just sharing what i have done to cure it.

Do you mean, you sleep only for three to four hours a day.If so,then your headache is caused by lack of sleep.A sound sleep is inevitable for health. If you don't sleep for 8 hours daily at night, you would often have this problem.I had once had to wake up till 4 am during a function, and the next day I had a severe headache.Apart from lack of sleep,a weak digestive system may also cause headache.

I always get a terrible headache in the morning when I wake up if I have had a sleepless night. However, I think that in your case you are getting headaches because you spend too much time in front of the TV and therefore this causes your eye to grow tired and this eventually is equal to the headaches you have been getting.

It could be a thirsty sort of headache when your body needs to drink some water. It might be a sinus headache when your nose is blocked. It could be a stress headache. Your eyes could be tired from looking at so much television.
I tend to wake up early on weekdays and feel well. At the weekend if I have a slight lay in I can risk getting a headache. It is best to have the same waking and sleeping pattern all week perhaps. Good luck.

I don't get alot of headaches at all. From time to time maybe a sinus headache. For you to be waking up and having headaches I would consult a doctor to make sure everything is ok. Just to let you know my ex-boss woke up with a bad headache and also felt dizzy. He was taken to the hospital where they did a some test and found his brain was bleeding. They rushed him into surgery but after a week he ended up passing away. I'm sure you don't have a bleeding on the brain. However, to make sure its not something else I think you need to get checked out. I don't think its normal to wake up with a headache that often. Good luck!

I use to feel headache when taking a nap.
Maybe you are not having a good sleep at night and that is why you are experiencing headache after taking a short nap.
I don't experience it now since I always try to have at least 7 hours sleep at night.
So, even if I took a 30 minutes nap in the afternoon- I am not having headache anymore.

Sometimes I experienced this too when I don't have enough sleep and when I over sleep or suddenly get up from bed right after my eyes open from sleeping. What I do is sometimes just drink coffee and my headache was gone and I lay down first when I woke up and not getting up quick since I've notice that my head does hurt when I suddenly get up after being in deep sleep. If you still having headache for a while then I suggest consult your doctor.

Sleeping too much can cause headaches.. I used to sleep every afternoon and I realized it wasn't good for my health. You should sleep only 8-10 h .. it's enough. But you should go to a doctor.. After months of headaches I went see a doctor and I realised I have sinusitis.. So it's better to prevent that to treat . :)
