My sister bought me a Jack La Lanne Power Juicer the other night as well as a bunch of fruits and veggies. My kids had some juice from it while I was at work yesterday, but I used it for the first time a little bit ago. My kids had Carrot, orange, apple, strawberry juice. They LOVED it! I liked it, but I barely got any. Greedy kids!!
Have you ever owned a juicer? Got any ideas on what combinations that include more veggies I can do for the kids that they will not hate?

I did buy/get a juicer about ten years ago. I tried to use it and bits of carrot went flying everywhere. I just didn't get the knack of using it at all. Such a klutz I would love one though so maybe |I will save for one and try again.

I have heard people rave about juicing. Everyone says they feel so much better. And if you're going to have any juicer I would say Jack La Lane's is as good as any considering he lived into his 90s and lived well. I mean that man was active up until the end.

Yes, I've had a juicer before. In fact, I've had a few different ones through the years, including the Jack LaLanne. I currently have a Breville, although I haven't used it for some time.
My husband and I did get into juicing for a while, but only stuck to a few different recipes. The main ones we would have are listed below:
Carrot, celery, spinach (or romaine lettuce), cucumber, radish, and broccoli (keeping it light on the radish and broccoli)
Carrot, celery, spinach or romaine (sometimes with broccoli)
Carrot and celery
Carrot, celery, and cucumber (my favorite as far as a veggie mix goes. Heck, even my kids liked it, and they're really picky eaters. So if they liked it, it had to be good!)
We also juiced fruits as well. A couple of our favorites were apple and/or orange (sometimes with pomegranate) and cantaloupe. That's about all I can remember for now. Maybe if I get back into it I'll remember more. LOL
Happy mylotting!

I think my daughter would drink pretty much anything I juice. My son however is more of a challenge. He has always been pickier about things like that. My sister made celery, cucumber, lemon, but it was too sour for me. Carrot instead might be better for my tastes.

Jack La Lanne Power Juicer is a great choice. Here in our country we can't buy original Jak La Lanne brand but I could see so many imitation of this brand all coming from China. Of course I won't settle for imitation so I bought Philips brand instead. It is a combination of juicer and blender and truly I am so happy with this purchase. I got it at 50 percent discount because the store held a big year end sale. Now it is back into its original price and am so happy that I was able to take advantage of the short sale period.
Fruits makes real sweet and refreshing juice mixture. The other day I juiced 1 watermelon, 2 melons and 2 kilos of mangoes. I mixed them and was able to yield 5 bottles. I used the big empty bottles of Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar. The whole family was really delighted especially the kids who kept asking for more.
Carrots and apple is also a big favorite at home. Also cucumber with calamanci juice and honey.
Vegetable juice are not really popular with the kids because they lack sweet taste but since they are nutritious I mix them with the fruits. Any non-bitter vegetable will mix well with the sweet fruits. With bitter vegetable such as malunggay, I neutralize their bitterness by adding more raw mango extracts and honey.

I actually stock fruits juice for a week consumption. I do store them in a tightly closed bottle and place them in my chiller. For as long as the refrigerator has a good cooling system then I think it is okay to store for 7 days or even up to 10 days. By the way, don't forget to put first the bottled juices in the freezer for an hour or two before transferring them in the chiller. Then after 3 days you may putnback the remaining juice in the freezer for an hour again before placing them back in the chiller. It is a way of assuring that the juice gets enough chilling and won't be stale.

This morning I used the blender of the new juicer/blender. Instead of juicing I decided to try blending. Now I found out that is better to use blender for watery fruits because nothing is wasted. Even the flesh blends smoothly and blends well with the juice. I blended watermelon, melon and mango and the taste comes out really perfect and the mixture comes out thicker and more filling.

We have a juicer at home. It's now in one of the cabinets, unused for several months now
I like fresh juice and I would have liked to have a glass every morning. However, the juicer is too much work, we just do not use it anymore.
We used to have carrot-apple juice, orange-apple juice and pineapple-apple apple.
Maybe I will use the juicer again. That reminds me.

I bought a juicer from goodwill about a week ago and I got it for five bucks! I've wanted one of those Jack La Lanne juicers for a while because they are really awesome. I made some apple, celery, and carrot juice the other day that was awesome. As far as vegetables that are pretty good for juicing you could do celery, carrots, and maybe you could try some greens and things. As long as you put enough fruit in the juice it will mask any vegetable the color of the juice may end up looking pretty weird though.

After I was done making juice for the kids this morning I threw in a big handful of spinach. I had never tried spinach before, but I know some of the recipes in the book that came with the juices have spinach in them. I got about 2 tablespoons of juice.

I was excited to buy a Jack LaLane juicer a few years ago. I used it faithfully and then just stopped lol. I love friut and talked myself into believng the fiber of eating the fresh fruit was better than juicing.
I do think juicing veggies mixed with fruit is a great idea and a very healthy choiceespecially since I tend to not eat too many vegetables..Maybe I'll dig out my juicer from the back of the cabinett and try it again... Thanks for the reminder...

Oh those are so neat to have and what a wonderful sister to have brought you al of those good things. She is a keeper, heehee. I don't have a juicer, just use the blender I have for anything but it's not the same. You can add fresh spinach i those juices and they will like it I'm told. I have tried it myself with yogurt and it was yummy. Good luck with it you should expirement and let each other try some of what the others have and they can write down which combinations they loved best.
