Is it okay to be God Father to your step son?

I'm not really in this situation but I'm just wondering if its taboo or its just okay to be a God Father to your step son in Baptism? I really don't know the Christian baptism rules. But it just come into my mind if its allowed to be a God Father to your own step son.

The original purpose of a godparent is that if something happens to the parents of a child, the godparent will step in and make sure that the child is taught the religious and moral beliefs of the parents...If you are the stepfather, then you need to find someone else to fulfill this honorable duty.

I guess you are right. Its not possible to be a godfather and same time being a step father. lols. I'm just wondering what will going to happen if I'm the step father and I'm going to get the real father as godfather. lols.
