Don’t make your ‘Life-ship’---A Titanic

yes, Jack.. my heart will go on.. and on..... I know that life is like a ship I just hope that there should be no big tip of the Ice berg to go along my way. I like I thought it is just a small issue but it will turn out to be just the tip of the bigger concern. I hope I will be a good captain of my ship of life so the people who depends at me, won't be drowned too. However if I will know that the ship will sink, I will ask them to leave before we all sink.

These are some interesting thoughts and comments here, and Oh so true. Everything we do, we cannot change our destination without working on it, but we can change our direction especially the times where we feel everything may not always be going the Best. We are the Captains of our ship, and with Gods help and direction we can make it go really well if we let it. But too many times we want to give up, and then our life becomes shipwrecked like the Titanic.

I think direction is very hard to control especially when u are controling it all the time, I try to make it the same direction as the original one, but it lost many times, till now, I not sure enough as I always do whether the way I chose is the right for me though I'm moving on and improving, but it moves really slow that I can't see my destination very clearly. Ur metaphor is so vivid but I still consider my ship is continuously losing its direction.

I do believe that we have to reach a certain goal in our lives. And there are a lot of options in achieving them. It is the realization of choosing the best option that will somehow alter the outcome.

I totally agree with you. We might be living the wrong way now, but nothing will change by itself. We have to turn around.

Yes your are right you cannot change your destiny but i believe that you can change your way of thinking overnight and hard work is the only way to reach your success.

hi professor, life is what one chooses it to be. but it is not always where you go. in this case though, because of some outer forces that was uncontrollable and was not seen, the path was cut so suddenly. that is what happened to titanic. the lovers knew what they wanted and they were so sure about themselves but something along the way changed the path they wanted to pursue. but the story was such a inspiration.. id like to be as determined as the actor and actress in the movie. ann

Its all written in th destiny long before one come's to this world. If it has to be Titanic , you can't change it. My philosphy is "LIFE LIFE TO THE FULL". As we don't know what next moment is going to be and do what you like. You will do magic in your deeds one day.

I agree with your views Professor. We can't just whip the 'ship' around as it will tip over and sink, but we can make the appropriate changes that will lead to a whole better life outcome by gradually changing the direction of our 'ship'. I've started work as a volunteer language teacher for English as a second language. I have a feeling that this will bring about some positive changes in my life.

Really we are the ones who controls the direction and the speed of the ship. Things really make us to study how to sail it according to the conditions. Till our teen ages we people are taught how to sail it and we are the ones who control it in rest of our life. Yeah, it's so important to have direction for our life like for ship. Walking without purpose is like a ship without a rudder. The steering wheel is a device driver that is used to determine the direction. The purpose of life will determine what we do and what we do not do, what is important and not important. By identifying the purpose of our lives will become more controllable. Good cause will result in a greater desire. Great desire that will make our lives a vibrant and takes us away from despair.
