Different alcohols having different effects..

I went over to a friend's house Saturday night. She's planning a wedding for next year and asked me to be her maid of honor. I haven't been in a wedding since I was a child and was a flower girl for a couple I don't even remember who they were. So I went to my friend's house to discuss wedding plans.. and we had a few drinks. I brought kahlua and we made white russians, my favorite drink. I had 3 and was pretty wasted by the end of the night. I spent all day Sunday being sick! I couldn't get out of bed all day. Even today my whole body hurts, but I have to go to work. But I was trying to figure out why I was so sick. I don't drink all that much.. but when I do I tend to be able to drink a lot before it affects me. The last time I drank I had far more than what I did on Saturday night, but my hangover wasn't too bad. I thought maybe I had a touch of the flu that added to my hangover made me feel that much worse. But then I remember a few years ago at New Year's Eve I made some white russians and had the same effect the next day. My husband said I was so sick he thinks I got alcohol poisoning. I'm wondering if maybe it's something about white russians that makes me so sick. I've narrowed it down to either the vodka, because I really don't drink anything else with vodka except white russians, or it's the combination of alcohol with cream. I've had other kahlua drinks that didn't effect me the same. If I ever feel like experimenting, I might try a different vodka drink and see what it does to me so I can decide whether or not it's just the vodka that makes me so sick, or the cream. My husband said he has the same problem with triple sec. He can drink a lot and not get a hangover at all, but if he has 1 drink with triple sec he's got a violent hangover the next day. Is there any particular drink you can't have without a violent hangover?

Brandy and it doesn't matter how expensive it may be. I throw up and get the runs immediately. I found this out years ago and now always decline a brandy. Cannot even stomach it if it is in a sauce or pudding. No brandy for me. I do hope that yhou are feeling better now
