our oldest daughter's name is leah and she has told me in the past that she doesn't really like her name. however, i have to say that i am not a fan of my name either.
i also agree with you that kids can be so cute and funny when they are young.

That is so very funny that when 4 years old your daughter wanted to be called Hello Kitty. Children can be so very amusing. My daughter is 3 years old and she wishes I had called her Princess Lily. One of her cousins already has the name Lily so I wouldn't have been able to name that. My daughter adores Hello Kitty. My sons are happy with their own names. My oldest son should have been called Roman I believe. Due to his love of history it would have suited him.

Yeah, kids are always cute and very creative.
My kids didn't ask to change their names, my elder son is only 4 years old, and the younger one is only 7 months old. My son asked me how we named him and his sister, and I told him when we thought about naming two of them, we looked into the dictionary, and we finally thought of these names which we love them very much. That's the process of getting their names.

One of my friend changed her name before entering the school, so only her family members and her friends needed to be told.
Some of my friend changed their name after school, usually they use the name with same pronunciation while with different characters. People still called them the same name, but the means of the name changed.

That was so cute of her! She must be loving Hello Kitty that much that she wanted to be named that way.
Well, my youngest son often asked me why I chose his name that way. All of my other three sons have the letter "J" on their names as well as me and my husband and my youngest son does not. I really wanted him to be named as Joseph Aaron but my father in law is very superstitious about having the same initials. And so, my husband, being obedient to his father told the nurse that he does not want Joseph Aaron as the name of my youngest. Well, I was still in pain a bit when they asked me about it coz it was just like a few hours after giving birth. So the first name that came to my mind was to replace Joseph with Sean. And my husband was fine with it.
A few days after I got home, I was looking at the Baby Names book and tried to look for the meaning of Sean. I was surprised! I read that Sean is an Irish name for John, which happens to be my husband's name.

Yes i can really relate to this post!
I have 3 kids and i have no problem with my boy, the girls are really giving me headaches with regards to wanting to change their names. My eldest who is 7 wants to change her name to the names in Barbie Movies, she loves watching them and would always wish to change her name and will not answer me when i call her by her real name, my youngest too, she is now 4 and likes to change her name too often just like her older sister, she requested me to call her Aryanna, the name of a mermaid girl and her favorite tv show. Now that the show has already ended, she now wants to be called Angel another name again from her favorite tv show. They are really funny and cute!

I never heard any of them say they want to change their name. Might be because they all already have 3 names? My eldest is now giving names to their siblings, she is the only one. But I don't think they are willing to change their name into that (Muppet for example is the name of one of them). BTW my eldery sister did change her name and it was no problem at all.. people did start calling her that way. BTW nothing wrong with the name "hello Kitty" or?
