I have read one comment online that the local government allowing inexperienced people to snorkel on this supposed to be protected island. I don't see any harm for tourist top snorkel even it's just their first time to do it. Usually they would have some guide to help them snorkel. As long as they leave any harmful trash or any garbage and doesn't harm the environment then I think it's not going to affect the place. It is good to appreciate the beauty of nature.

Whoa! I don't get it. How will those without experience in snorkeling then gain experience if they are not allowed to try the first time? The logic is bad! And I do think that snorkeling don't have quite an impact in destroying marine life as you are only floating above water and trying to look underwater. I would most certainly agree if it is scuba diving as inexperienced divers can really cause havoc in the marine life and corals if not controlled or supervised by professionals.

Maybe they won't allow inexperienced ones to explore the place without a professional assistance for whatever problem that may arise out of this activity they would be answerable and would mar the reputation of the place. To generate continuous flow of income, they should ensure that the place does not only offer beauty but safety as well.

If your place has something to flaunt in terms of marine resources then I guess it's just right for the government to use its resources and make the most out of it given that they make extra measure to preserve the marine life in the area. There are a lot of places here in the Philippines which offer snorkeling or diving as its tourist attraction. Most of these places are mostly maintained by the local government of the area. This way, the locals are given jobs and at the same time the government is earning. It's basically a win win situation for both parties- the government and the tourists. I pretty sure people who love snorkeling or diving wouldn't mind paying some amount so long as they get the most of what they paid for.

I do not think snorkel is a bad thing either in comparison to some worse actions the government take to pursue utmost economic benefits. Snorkel can be seems as an activity for human being to have a look at the undersea's life and make closer to the nature based on a resonable exploration. People snorkeling will not harm the sea features or the environment there. It is in fact much better than set sail or fish on the sea
