Hi mylotters, just to ask you on this issue. My office mate and I was talking about this and we all are thinking if we should refer friends to our company.. our company isn't perfect, obviously but its got its own perks and all.. of course i thought it is for my friends to decide... but then if they come to my work and actually take it.. they might think we are only causing them harm especially if their work is really good also...

Well, in our company, there exists an HR program for referrals. We can get referral bonuses with the amount depending on the position of the individual that we are referring will get into. Many people in our company makes this a good boost of their earnings. Some will usually post out job vacancies in different forum sites and refer people even if they don't know them personally. They just submit the resumes and they can be entitled to the referral bonus if the aspirant can pass the qualifications and interviews and start to work in the company. So referring is really part of the working environment. Some HRs will prefer referred applicants than those walk ins.

that is right... their attrition is quite high. when i worked in a bpo before, we have such a referral program. when you refer friends, they will give you a token for having them interviewed. if they passed and they happen to accept the job offer, you get x perrcentage of the amount say you are to be given 15000 you get the 5000 first and then if the friend stayed for 6 months, you get the rest of the referral fees. =)

Hmmm..I don't know about the X number of months. maybe, I'll have to check on that one too. But yes, BPO companies usually employ that referral system as attrition is high for such a stressful working environment.

Perhaps there is no a perfect company. If your friends are looking for a job and your company has the job offers which suit them. Why not give them a try? It can be good for both sides. Since your company will hire some people who are much more reliable since you know more about your friends.

that is right, there really is no perfect company. in the 4 companies i have worked for, there are about the same number of issues, but only different for each, some may be common too... but then it should be up to those who would decide to take the risk in a company

what company are you in? i don't think it will cause them harm, it's just that you are their friend trying to be close and have a bond anytime and also you think that your company is really good that's why you want to share it with your friends too...

the job is an office work, business analysis and stuff.. the harm i am referring to is actually about when the company does not live up to thhe expectation of my friends who may have other good benefits from their other company... :D

oh that is the truth, but a friend told me if he is not 100% happy with the company he won't refer anyone so others won't blame him in the end...
