I've been in a mood to try new recipes and steak has always been a favorite food of mine. I usually use Dale's, or italian dressing to marinate my steaks before I grill them but I'm looking to reach outside the box a little and try something new. Suggestions?

You cannot post recipes here, but you can discuss about food here and that is what you did. So this is not wrong. Well i think if you marinate your meat with some fresh natural marinades that will make your meat taste better. The key to any good tasting meat, be it steak or anything it should be some lemon. I have never eaten steak in my life. But i think you can keep in mind what kind of steak you want(the taste) and use the combination ingredients to marinate. But do not marinate it with mixing and matching the ingredients it is going to taste pathetic.
A little to try at home, that has promised to give best steaks are you can rub some fresh crushed garlic, olive oil, lemon, blend of balsamic vinegar, soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce. This makes the steak juicy. Try different combinations. Enjoy your meal.

I had heard before that lemon was a natural meat tenderizer? Maybe I need to look more into that. I use lemon pepper marinade for my chicken often but haven't tried it for beef yet.
Thanks for the suggestions. =)

A lemon pepper rub works very well with beef. Just mix some ground lemon pepper and salt and rub it all over the steaks 15 to 20 minutes before grilling.

I use lemon to make it juicy but I also put my favorite seasonings on it too. I put garlic powder, onion powder, garlic salt, and seasoning salt. It is really good with those all together! My steak turned out awesome the last time I made it like this.

What kind of seasoning salt do you use? I have Lawry's and Mrs. Dash varieties in my cupboard.

Honestly I don't think we've ever marinaded steak. As it is we rarely have such a luxury as steak let alone beef anymore. Usually we put seasonings on it or a steak seasoning mix and grill the steak when we did have the money for such things.
