It's Mild Outside And Yet I'm Cold

I don't understand it.
Throughout the day the temperature has actually gone UP. Currently, it's dark and windy outside but a heady 12°C. Last week the temperature was barely above freezing.
So, why do I feel colder this week than last? I'm wearing similar clothes so that's not it. My hands are like ice blocks despite being a fairly fast typist lol.
I think I need a holiday..preferably somewhere warmer than 12°C!

I have found that if it is cold for a while and the house gets cold, that even when it warms up outside, the cold just seeps out of the walls and penetrates my bones. It often happens in early spring for me. I find that I am better off opening doors and windows to let some warmth in. I hope your fingers thaw out soon. Someone else suggested the humidity and that is also a factor.

I've looked at the humidity (bearing in mind it's after 10pm now) and it's currently at 90%! Could that be it, you think?

I agree with Maezee that it very well could be an issue of humidity. I've known days with 50ish temps that felt chilly to me, while there have been days with 20ish temps that were (in my view) fit for wearing a miniskirt and leggings.
Perhaps, you need to go on a nice cruise to a warmer climate for a bit?

Strange... I've been feeling the same way and I'm halfway around the world from you. I don't know if the humidity has been higher or if it's something else. I have even gone so far as to turn up the heater, but it doesn't work until I have it really up and I can't afford that.
I was reading about Vitamin D deficiency the other day and the way the article was written, a deficiency of either B vitamins or vitamin D (I couldn't tell which one because of the way it was written) could cause a person to feel cold. Just a thought.
Meantime, I cover up with a blanket any time I can and wear extra layers of clothes. I'm still cold, though. My nose is even cold.

My hands have finally warmed up. I cannot stand my cold hands. Mum's used to go white when it's cold but they don't now. Mine aren't as bad but..well, take ages to warm up. In fact, now they're quite sweaty and it's 10.30 at night!

Maybe the humidity levels have gone up or down or done something. My co-worker mentioned it to me as well this week, that it feels colder even though we know the temperature is warmer. I don't really understand science and I'm not a meterologist, but I hazard to guess that there are a lot of factors (besides just temperature) that decides how cold it's gonna be.

It's very windy here today and we're supposed to be getting colder weather from Canada, of all places!
At least I've been out and about though..had my hair cut. I feel much better now..and more wide awake too!

It just so happened that here the maximum temperature is also 12 ? today. It seems to be getting marmer and warmer, but I still wear winter clothes in case I should catch a cold,as the weather is now hot now cold recently. There is a lot of wind there, maybe this is why you feel cold.

Funnily enough, it's colder today but I feel fine..but there again I've kept myself busy. I think that must be the answer.

Flap your wings... er, arms... about and get your blood circulating. You'll warm up despite the dampness.

Cat cuddling is good. They make nice little heaters.
A sluggish thyroid will make you feel cold.

It's the same here.
Last week was also just above freezing here. My garage door broke last week, so I had to park the car outside, and it took me a good 10 minutes to de-frost the windshield (so I was late for work).
This week is around 7 degrees, but it feels much colder than last week. I'm wearing a sweater for work today, while I didn't have to last week.

Yes, Winter Woolies are essential for keeping me snug indoors..and outside actually. I have a scarf I can wear indoors too. It's a wraparound thingy and is invaluable for keeping my neck warm.

Hi there Janey1966,
That was a good temperature. How I wish that I can again experience another cold weather like that. As our weather here in Asia is not as cold as that. That is why, we keep on using 2 electric fans whenever we sleep. And even take a bath twice day because of the hot weather here. How I wonder when that type of cold weather be experience in our end here.

Hello! My, I guess I'm lucky as I cannot imagine it being so hot that you have to have fans on in order to sleep. The other night I needed a hot water bottle and LAST night I didn't need one and felt a tad too warm.
Can't win!

Hi Professor. Yes, I am much better now thanks. It's colder outside but a lot brighter so my wellbeing has increased. I was also up earlier in order to go to the hairdressers. I spend far too much time in bed so it gave me a good excuse to get up earlier. I've been productive this afternoon too, cleaning my fridge and baking a rather nice ginger cake. My best yet in fact!
27°C is way too hot for me. I can handle around 22°C but that's my limit!

Same problem I have. It was about -10 now it's about 8-9 degrees and I am shivering non stop, even in bed :-( Can't stay warm probably I used all my energy in the past weeks while it was freezing cold?

Yes, you could be right there. I've been more lethargic this week than last as last week I got motivated to do things as I was colder (if that makes sense).
