Is the Longest "15 Minutes" in History FINALLY Over?

For those of you who haven't heard the news, Fox News hasn't renewed Sarah Palin's contract; I'm not sure if it was a mutual decision or if she was more or less "fired" but the bottom line is she won't be a contributor there anymore. The bad news is she may never get to finish the sentence she started back in 2008...lol! It could be said that Sarah is kind of like the month of March in that she came in like a lion - with some pit bull mixed in - and she's going out like a lamb, that is if lambs ever "go out" with their tails between their legs. I read that she was paid more than $15 per WORD during her time at Fox News. Now, I'm no businesswoman but even I know that's not exactly a good bargain! She was billed as a "political contributor" but, seriously, what did she "contribute"? She spoke continually about the "lame-stream media" - anything other than Fox - and kept up her attack dog treatment of the President. I thought that might be enough to keep her on the air indefinitely since that's basically what Fox does, but I guess it wasn't. So, what does everyone here think? Will Sarah Pain reinvent herself and come roaring back at some point in the future, like maybe on another reality show? What do you think brought her down? I kind of think she sealed her own fate with her dismal and disgusting reaction to the shooting of Congresswoman GAbby Giffords when she tried to paint herself as the real victim.

Maybe now that she's gone, Bill O'Reiley can get kicked to the curb!

Yes, I'm sure they're just itching to cancel the highest rated show on cable news because you don't like him.

A homophobic racist? Yeah, that's original. I don't agree with him on gay marriage, but racist? Heck his most frequent guest is Juan Williams and Juan disagrees with him on almost every major issue. But then, O'Reilly doesn't favor affirmative action, and thinks people should actually work for their money, so maybe, to some, that's racist. I don't agree with him on a good number of things, I'm just pointing out how ignorant it is to believe they'll fire him when he's got the highest rated show on cable news.

A homophobic racist that belittles people on his show because of their ideals & lifestyle. Maybe he's not a bad guy after all, Task! What was I thinking? I was judging him! Everything he says is gospel, right?! I'm a flaming liberal, what do I know?

Before I get my butt chewed on this site again by die hard conservatives, Annie, let me state for the record that we liberals are just going by what we are displayed on news networks (whether it is MSNBC or Fox News.) It was no surprise that she was booted of Fox for whatever reason it may be. (Yes, I'm glad they did, because really...who watched her in the first place? Or her humdrum reality show on TLC?!) I was only surprised that she lasted this long. Guess anyone can be famous these days.

So you have proof she was 'booted'? Or is it just wishful thinking on your part?

Check the ratings, Deb. If no one gave a s--- on her TLC reality show, viewers certainly weren't lining up watching her on Fox News. The nice way of saying she was booted from Fox was her coming with some lame excuse about leaving. This is Sarah Palin we're talking about. Duh.

Despite the rumors that all I do is watch Fox channel, I don't unless I'm at someone's house and it is on. As for her reality show....I despise reality tv of any ilk. I'm just remembering how some of you jumped for joy over Beck leaving and when it was pointed out he started HIS OWN news channel on the internet, you still thought the worst and believed what you wanted to believe about him. Btw..it's doing great, expanded to satelite now! So, I figured you all may like to remember that before you plan a party to celebrate Sarah Palin's departure from Fox. Bigger and better things may be just ahead, I know that makes you jump for joy! LOL you have created the monster under your bed. Get over it. DUH!

Hi anniepa, I think that Sarah Palin is old news and will soon slip into oblivion. Can you imagine what would have happen if she had ever got elected president? Blessings.

OMG, what a disaster, you betcha...lol! Did you happen to see the SNL bit using the trailer to the "2012" movie about if she were elected? Talk about an apocalypse! I must say, though, if she'd been elected and made it to the Inauguration she'd probably have resigned by now. God knows what kind of idiot she'd have chosen as her running mate. Actually, I think it would be more like she wouldn't make it through the campaign, she'd have gotten fed up and quit. Annie

Come to think of it, you're right, she hasn't been the topic of many discussions here lately. However, she has been fairly visible in the outside world, at least now and then rearing her head to make some cryptic, nonsensical remark. Forgive me for not being able to resist starting one last discussion about her, kind of for old time's sake...lol! Annie

Palin lives in oblivion here, until Anniepa brings her up talking about how tired she is of her and how she wishes Palin would just finally go away.

The Giffords comment sure didn't help. Maybe it's because Tina Fey does a better Sarah Palin than Sarah Palin does?

I'm not sure what happened at Fox with her. However, I hope and pray her long useless "15 Minutes" of fame is over and done with. She is yesterdays news and we need to go forward and hope we don't hear from her again. She never said anything of intelligence in my opinion and I still blame Senator John McCain for giving her the spotlight in 2007. What was he thinking??

I think she got a taste of what its like to work for a real corporation. Anyway that's the rumors I have been hearing is she would not adapt to the way Fox News does things. She went rogue like she did on John McCain's campaign. Hey, she still got paid 3 million dollars in 3 years but it does make you wonder? If she did not like working there for that price how do the rest of us put up with what we put up with for 30,000 to 40,000 dollars. I hear she has all kind of deals going on from right wing radio to little TV network deals too. I think she is just a person who will be bouncing all over the place. I think people will get tired of her BS and she will probably be the female version of Glen Beck on radio.

I think it was painfully obvious from the beginning of her VP run that she doesn't play well with others. She's the quintessential "my way or the highway" type and was apparently ready to take her ball and go home. I wonder which TV networks would be stupid enough to go after her. She might still be able to pull in an audience on right wing radio, though. She's probably the only person who can stretch a sentence out for three hours...lol! Annie

I seem to remember a discussion here recently where liberals were praising Chris Christie on his bipartisanship during the Sandy disaster? You'll be proud to know that you have something in common with the governor of NJ once again; he thinks Obama has a 'it's my way or the highway' attitude just like you think Sarah Palin does; http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/2013/01/christie_criticizes_obamas_ina.html TRENTON — Gov. Chris Christie tonight critiqued President Obama for an inaugural speech that set an aggressive policy agenda for his second term, though the approach is not unlike one the governor has followed. “I think his inaugural address instead of trying to bring people together was a manifesto for, ‘Hey, it’s my way or the highway,’” he said on his monthly call-in show on NJ 101.5 FM. But hey, it's ok for Obama to display that attitude. Why?

Sarah has a lifetime gig in the heads of liberals whose hatred of her keeps them focused on her every move and breath, even when no one else is paying attention. I am amazed, however, that you know what she did at Fox, what she spoke about there and what her contributions were. I didn't realize you watched Fox, let alone Palin's appearances on Fox. It was the left and the media who made Palin the villain in the Giffords shooting, even though everything they reported was again, all in their heads with no relationship to reality. Honestly, I had forgotten about the hoopla over the map with the crosshairs because I thought we all knew that Loughner was nuts. I guess the fact that he was mentally ill, and the fact that the media went after Palin over something that had nothing to do with his crime is much less important to you than the fact that someone falsely accused should publicly declare her innocence. I agree, that was really outrageous of her. Listen, when they say you're guilty, you're supposed to apologize, not prove your innocence, right? Seriously, I hope she never goes away. Because it's fun to watch the haters lose their minds over everything she does, says and wears.

Actually, you can make this stuff up. Such as the seeing Russia from her house comment. Sarah Palin never said it, Tina Fey did on SNL. So, yeah, you can make it up and then repeat it over and over until low information voters think it's the truth.

I'm about half convinced that people know what Palin has said and what has been said for her, but the stuff said for her is much funnier. And one thing I'm wholly convinced about: Left-wing women absolutely loathe Palin more than a man demanding a sandwich.

You know what bothers me is that conservatives are really quick to point out small details and turn them into something that shouldn't. Oh, but when we do it, we're narrow-minded, angry, violent people that need to be stopped and you demand an apology, step down from office, & fade away into obscurity. Do I hate Sarah Palin? No. I find her to be quite amusing to just look at and laugh hysterically at how she makes herself out to be. And the Gabby Giffords comment? Really, what can we expect from someone that can see Russia from their house? You just can't make this stuff up!

Perhaps she just got sick of being attacked and ridiculed? Maybe like Glenn Beck, she's going on to bigger and better things? And why do the liberals, who all claim to dislike her, keep bringing HER UP again and again and again?

She's an idiot. Her reality show sucked. Nobody watched her. She shoulda been fired earlier. "You can't make this stuff up" about Russia from the house (Fey, as Rollo mentioned). But do I hate her? No. *facepalm*

So is Maher, so is Chris Matthews, so are a lot of liberal 'journalists' and pundits. Do you call them idiots? No, but I do, and so do others, and when we do you call us haters. So, are you a hater for calling Palin an 'idiot'?
