my netbook is no longer popular now. I saw many people who are now buying and using tablet even in newscaster in tv and other ads they are also using tablet. When you buy tablet then they will think that you are 'IN' in technology with the latest product. The ACER will produce more tablet this year as what I have heard in the news.Should I switch now for tablet? Can I do the same thing as what I normally do in my netbook like encoding? Tablet is half a price than netbook.

I think tablets are nice, but they are not as good to be used when you are working - i still prefer to use laptops as it is easier to type with a laptop than with a touchscreen tablets. tablets though are convenient to use and to bring wherever you go, so basically that is why it became really popular here.

Hi,
It is not. First it has limited features compared to a laptop or a PC for that matter. For power users like me, it can't crunch Photoshop or AutoCad, video editing or Crysis 3 for that matter. Its only advantage, like the laptop is its mobility, a scaled down version of a laptop in the best of circumstances but when it comes to processor speed, the tablet lags far behind than my trusty desktop PC. Also, I can always rely on a bigger screen and storage space, faster keyboard input and a wide array of in-out interface like a printer. CAD machine, projector and just any machine that has a USB connector. The price is also quite prohibitive. At USD500, I can hand pick the best hardware and assemble the fastest and latest gaming desktop PC with lots to spare for a snack and dinner afterwards.
Maybe, in the future, if tablets are made this way, then it is goodbye PC or laptop for me.

We have been having discussions about tablet vs. laptop too, me and my husband. We currently have a pc and two android phones and he wants to purchase either the tablet or the laptop, i pointed out to him that there are so many things that a laptop can do that the tablet has many shortcomings, tablet is just a fad here in Philippines, you know how we Pinoys are when we see a person carrying a tablet, we automatically think that he/she is rich or can afford. Even if the tablet is just China made and not really much the same as the Ipad of Apple. He actually wants to purchase those, i said oh no! It is just like throwing money to waste.
It is really up to you if you wanna purchase the tablet, i suggest you go for the quality and functionality. Who knows in the coming months better gadget will come out in the market that can surpass the capabilities of recent tablets right? You know how fast technology is, we can't seem to keep up with it.

good day fearlessgara,
i do also noticed that tablets nowadays are getting popular. hence if you will go to any gadget stores, you will see a lot of people who goes for a tablet. they prefer to have this gadget since it is really very handy and it is very "in". though i still prefer to choose netbook since i can do more complex works in it.

Well, I can not tell exactly whether the tablet can replace 100% of the functions of a netbook.
However, my brother bought it, used it for a month and then definitely sold!
He said, however, that the same functions as it does with the tablet, the can do with your mobile phone (phone, his upper-middle class).
I, however, I have no intention at the time to buy a tablet.
I have to say that the tablet today, it is popular in the Philippines, as in almost all the world!

i am a tablet user..what i can say is, tablet is really convenient and can help you perform most of the tasks efficiently. However, it has its shortcoming. It cannot completely replace a laptop. I can't completely depend on my ipad to do stuff. Sometimes, i still need to switch to my laptop to do certain things.
Whatever is it, follow your own preferences and tasks you are performing.
Lucky for you, there are now detachable laptops where it is a tablet and a laptop (when combined).
Good luck pal :)

i have a blackberry playbook and i love my tablet. it allows me to download books from the library, watch movies, listen to my tunes that hubby put on my tablet, the radio and also do stuff on the internet. i am seldom without my tablet. i don't always take it with me when i go anywhere but i am always with it at home. not sure about encoding though, i am not a computer person (hubby is so he set my tablet up.)

Finally I bought a tablet last year. Most of the time I watch movies from it. Since it is an Android tablet, I can find many good apps. Besides, my husband is a programmer and he needs an Android tablet to test his app. And this is why I would buy it. I am not a person who needs to use the latest gadget

umh...i don't even know what is tablet, hihihi
However, if you have money to buy table and using tablet is better than that of netbook, then you can buy a new one, why not? Just buy what you want, don't need to care about the other things, seriously.
Currently i use laptop and cellphone only, i don't care much about the other things since it is what i want to use only.
