I write articles on a many different topics. I do not like to box myself into a corner by sticking to one niche or topic. I got started by submitting a few articles to a few venues, and I began applying for writing gigs I searched for on craiglist. Also, I joined a few writing forums/messageboards, where I get my support and encouragement from. By doing that, you can learn more about the freelance writing business from those who have been doing it longer. You can learn about the do's and don'ts of the business, like quality pay for quality work. There are also free online writing courses you can look into, and this can help you write more effectively. You can join job bidding sites, where you bid for writing jobs.

Well, I'm a writer, and I joined this site:
http://www.constant-content.com/?aref=2932
From there, I sell my articles about all sorts of topics and have made over $450 at it so far. And they pay which is great :) Plus it's free to join! Take a look in there if you are looking to get published. Some of my articles have made it into magazines, and lots of mine are online on websites all over the place :)
