Are you ready? Do you always have a pen and paper with you wherever you go?

I am just like you...and maybe be a bit weirder! Coz I want that wherever I go, the pen and paper should be within my reach. Hahahaha! I just feel I need them beside me coz if something pops in my mind, I have to take it down right away. My son would always laugh at me and say that I could make use of the notes on my cellphone, but I just feel like writing instead of typing it.

there have been times i wish i had pen and paper with me and i didn't, it may have helped those times but no i don't normally carry them with me where ever i go.

I try to keep this habit but I invariably carry them for a while without having to use them, then I change handbags and forget to include the items and it's then that I need them.

You know I used to not carry a notebook with me and instead I would have to write things down on whatever was around whether it was a napkin, paper towel, or envelope. I write songs and you never know when inspiration will strike. The above system was not very good because I have lost a couple songs as a result. About a year ago somebody gave me two small notebooks: each had blank paper and one was spiral, the other cleanly attached. I write down people's emails, phone numbers, song lyrics, or assignments for the algebra 1 or algebra 2 students I tutor now. It is very handy and convenient.

I do! You'll never know when something comes up and you'll just have to write it down. It's difficult forgetting things, especially when they're really important. I do that too for things that make me smile, like a journal or something. Going back on the things that I've already written feels good and it usually makes me smile especially on bad days.

sometimes i'm ready, sometimes i'm not.i usualy note on the phone, as a draft message if i don't have paper.my sister is always prepared, her bag is heavy all the time :)) i can't say the same thing about me, i'm carrying with me only the things i really need.

I've carried a notepad and pen with me for years and I think it's a super great idea! I've needed it for addresses, phone numbers, jobs, and most of all, I carried one when my children were little in case they got bored if I was out shopping, doctors sppts., or to lunch. This gave them something to play with. I still carry one for my 6 year old granddaughter in case she gets bored too when we're out.

I do try to have a notebook and pen with me, wherever I go. Sometimes, it can be difficult, as I'll take things out and sometimes I'll forget to put a notebook in. But it is something that I do try to keep in my purse with me, or something.

I usually have a pen floating around somewhere at the bottom of my purse. However, it is not certain that I will have anything in my bag that I can write on.

I always have a pen and paper with me ALL the time. I like writing a lot. I like writing my thoughts or I always jot down phrases or one liners that I hear in radio or see in mall/street signages. Paper and pen is always useful, you just don't know when but I believe, we always need it when we are out of the house.

My bags look like small stores and everybody wonder how they are so heavy. But, when I am in hurry, I don't take time to take only what I need, so I put all kind of things there, moving them all from a bag to another. So, I usually have all sort of pens and papers and notebooks for various things. Also books, electronics, cosmetics, food and a lot of other things. Still, I don't feel prepared if I don't carry my laptop with me, because I never know when I feel inspired to write something longer, and I get used to write on it. I can't focus well anymore when I write on paper.

I too do carry a small notebook and pen in bag.Its mostly due to my profession.Being an IT consultant,although its mostly on laptop,I had found times when i needed to jot down something or have to use pen for signing up things.And its a good habit too of carrying a book and pen especially a pen.You need not depend or run after people having things when situations demands them.I do not carry expensive pens.it is average ball pens.Although i love ink pens, i am liking ball pens better as its more convenient and easy to handle.But then now with applications in mobile and digital applications available, most people are reducing using pen.I use pen also while writing diary.I also keep a pen and book at my desk at home.It also helps me in writing down the priorities and checking on the finance stuffs etc.It also helps in urgent jotting or doing things.Overall with all the things and experiences, i have found it to be a good habit as well.In fact, having bag while travelling also is a great habit.Never know when it could be useful as well in a travel.Its ok to be always ready.Good to read your thoughts.Thanks!

I have an idea now, wherever i go i need to bring a notebook or a piece of paper and a ballpen. Haha your post gives me a guide thanks Ms. Chiyosan :)

I do. And I agree with you... You'll never know when you need to write down something. It is more convenient than borrowing from someone a pen or asking for a paper. I don't want to borrow a pen specially when I need to write down a lot of things. :)

I use a walker and have a basket on it. Last year a friend gave me a little tablet with a little pen attached. I always keep it in my basket and it has come in handy a number of times. It seems when you are on the phone, there is always something you need to write down.

good day chiyosan, that was a good attitude to nurture. that always be ready everytime since you will never know when a good topic might arise or an idea will pop-up in your mind. perhaps, i should also be doing the same thing, hence, in this way, i can also save time spending in thinking the moment i faced my machine. good job.

for me i could say yes,i am always ready because i always have my pen in my bag and a small piece of paper,but there are few times that i forget to bring my pen especially when i change my bag and forget to transfer my pen to my other bag.

I always try to keep these things with me but most of the time when I do need them I find that my children have already used up the paper or lost the pen that I carry in my purse.

I keep a pen and paper, with me all the time, I never know when I will hear some one, say some thing on the bus, or at the bus stop, that I can use for a discussion, here in Mylot, so I make it a habit to, keep pen and paper with me, all the time now.
