DIY wedding ceremonies and parties seem to be more and more elaborate. Not only can do it yourself save a lot of money, it also creates lasting memories and can be a lot of fun if organized well. Basic questions to ask and answer are the same 5 w's used in journalism, i.e, ..who, what, where, when, why, and how. Some detail to the w's can be found here. http://amazingdiyevents.blogspot.com/

I just prefer to designing my own wedding dress amd select the wedding accessories but for others, it just takes so much energy and time for i am not professional in it so it's hard to say if it can really impress others or not. But for some other guys if he or she has much time and really is into it, DIY is great. Anyway, whatever we choose, wedding day is a wonderful moment in our life so just follow your heart and do want you want.

ArielAhhhh Congrats! Who sewed your dress?? I think it's wonderful to be able to design your own..not everyone has that type of talent. Most of us had to try on different styles and only then fully be able to decide what looks best on us. Impressing others is not as important as impressing yourself..if you are happy with how you look that is what matters the most.. Do it yourself helps cut down the cost. Some elect to assign or hire a 'day of' coordinator so the Bride can be free of all the little details that can be nerve racking...

ArielAhhhh Is this something you are just thinking about or are you engaged and do you have a wedding date? I really like the idea of designing your own dress!

Yep, you are right. Impressing myself matters the most. I don't know how to sew a dress, but i do know what kind of dress or accessories that i want. Like i am kind of a simple style person but a little bit perfectionist, so every accessories that match the dress, probably, i will choose and match them by myself and then ask the seamstress to sew it. I don't know if it costs less or not, but maybe it depends on the materials of the dress or the cost of the accessories you choose. Anyway, designing my own wedding dress, I know, it is really the unique one in this world, which means a lot.

celticeagle I don't do wedding planning...it's not my 'thing'...lol but I have been to a few DIY weddings. It seems they are more and more elaborate and more and more expensive too. I suppose that's why so many DIY suggestions are coming up on the internet.

Sorry to say but a wedding is just a party. How hard can it be to arrange everything you like yourself? Make a list and ask people to help you out or deliver it (flowers, food/catering). I find it very hard to believe you pay someone to do this for you and you still are "shouting" around about everything that is not fine according to your opinion. How relaxing/enjoyable can that be?

WakeUpKitty Not sure I am following you?? Did I offend you or imply I was shouting around about 'everything'?? A wedding is a party...but have you planned a wedding party for at least over a hundred??
