Actually on this matter ther is change in my mindset from last few months. When I was small I don't like any type off sound when I will be studying and I could not learn any thing and even when writing. But from last few months or last one year or so I do writing work only whehn listening to the songs.Today I don't feel any type of disturbance.
Instead i enjoy while doing my written work. But man some of myvfiends always needs sometype of earphone always there and they study, they write, they walk with earphones. They sometimes really irritates me.But its their life and they loves to spend like that.

Well, as we get older, our needs change. There are things we used to enjoy as in music, or doing things that may bother us now, or we wonder why we used to do things that way. For me, many times if I am reading, I like to have it quiet. But when being here online I enjoy having something there to listen too.

with age then our minds will be filled with all sorts of affairs, as a boy so easy to capture what is seen and heard. Now it's very difficult to remember what I learned today if while listening to music. Music is very nice to make us relax and do something that we love.

I like to study when I have music going, but I have found what works the best is doing it right before I turn in for the night with out any music, and of course talking with lots of people in study group really helps.

I find that as I have got older I have a poorer concentration span, and I am easily distracted. I need to have silence to be able to study and I certainly can't study with music or noise.

When I was in school, I rarely studied with music playing, however, I would often do my homework with "Unsolved Mysteries" (my favorite show from 7th grade through high school) playing in the background. I found it broke the monotony of all that reading and writing and actually helped me focus better on the task at hand. The only time I did not do this was when studying for a test (because for that I found I was better prepared when my parents grilled me aloud).
I think music a) makes me get up and move too much and/or b) provokes too many thoughts that have nothing to do with school work. In other words, it was a big distraction just because of the way I naturally process things.
I can see where it would be especially hard to have music on while reading - especially music with lyrics. It is difficult to focus on what your textbook is saying while you have music in the background saying something completely different. It might be easier to read to music without lyrics, especially if its something you find to be slow and relaxing. Apologies if you've already tried this.

It doesn't bother me to have music on while I'm studying. As a matter of fact, I have the little radio in the bedroom on most of the time. I guess you could say it's for "background noise". The radio is low so that the music won't be so loud that I wouldn't be able to concentrate on my studies. Then there are times that I have the radio off and the quiet gets too "loud".

Music is fine with me for reading or studying anything as long as its just instrumentals, .
Reading and then trying to listen to another set of words at the same time, is frustrating for me. I feel torn between focusing completely on my book or the the voice of the singer.

I have a roommate who likes to do her homework with the TV series on! She laughs a lot, when there's something funny, and can still finish her work! Really genius:D
For me, it depends. If the thing I'm doing is easy and doesn't need whole attention, I'd like the music on. Otherwise I'd better turn it off in order to finish it sooner and with a better quality.
