Besides money, what else you don't want to lend?

Do you have something that you don't want to lend to others besides money? Personally I don't like to lend books to others. Since I may not buy the same books again since some people don't return them for me at last. Although the books are not worth so much money, but it is frustrating that I don't have them at home.

I agree with you on this, I also do not like lending my books to friends and to other people, this is because i have actually lend some books to someone before... but then when it was returned to me, it was not in the same condition as they have got it from me (almost new with no chip and no lines in the book column) I do value the books i buy and when i read it, i read so careful enough not to have any indication that it has been used. WHen you see my books, you would think it was just right out of bookstores. I also am not much into lending earrings or jewelries to friends - this is because i fear that others are very careless and they won't take care of the jewelries and might even lose it... =( I do not lend my shoes as well. he he I love shoes and i think something you wear i so not something you would want others to be using as well because - it is supposed to be a personal item and not to be lend out to friends, or even close relatives... And though you have said except for money, if i do have money and i have an extra money - i do not really mind lending money to help a friend out.. its just that sometimes i do not have extra cash to lend out, and if i cannot help i would feel sad.

well, yes most people would not borrow but some do especially when they need to have an earrings, at least for an occasion. he he i agree, it is expensive and if you are to lend out this, then the person should be well trusted.

I think people shall not borrow jewelries because they are not necessary stuff. Besides, they are expensive.

As soon as I read your title I thought books! I love to read and when I was younger I would lend them to my classmates to read. They didn't like to read and I wanted to do something to foster that interest. But they always gave me my books back in poor condition. I took such good care of my books that you couldn't even tell they had been read. But sadly, people don't have as much respect for other people's property. Just a side note, you might not want to start your discussions like this with a question. People tend to report these as poll questions. I won't be reporting it, obviously, because I answered it. I just wanted to suggest that because a lot of people like to report anything that ends in a question within the subject title.

I just think your discussion is good. I don't see anything wrong with it. I'm hoping no one else will get "reporting" happy.

I can easily lend books. A lot of kids borrow our kid's books and I'm fine with that. Many of these books don't get returned but that's okay. I have noticed that having so many books at home only clutters the place. They are quick to gather dust too so I don't mind lending them to friends after I have read them because I do not intend to reread them again, so I can at least share and circulate it.

I wonder whether you still think it is OK if people borrow your own books.

I don't like lending books to others either. Even when I was a kid, I would get super defensive if my parents try to give my books away to other people. And I've been in such circumstances where I don't get my books back. I love collecting books, and I feel like they're a part of me. So when other people touch them, it kinda gives me an uneasy feeling if you know what I mean. Besides money and books, probably my bf as well~

I don't like people borrowing my books either because they mean something to me since I love reading! Back when I was younger I did not like letting people borrow my music like CD's because they never got back to me either and I love music too!

Some people can really be disrespectful, selfish, and ungrateful! If someone is going to be kind enough to lend you something, at least have the decency to give it back! Sheesh! Some people make me mad!

Hello You Less. I do not like to lend people my laptop. It is important to me and I am worried someone else could break it. I lent two books to one friend and never got them back again. I won't let that friend borrow anymore books.

I have a friend that I offered to lend my jewelries and put it at the pawn shop to be a money. She knows that I can't lend her money that's why sometimes I offered my jewelries to her, I know she don't want it either but that's the way I can help her.

hi youless I never would lend my books to anyone as I did it a few times and they were never returned. I have got to the point that if my roomie wants to borrow anything I will refuse. Why? because I have lent her my best comb, my little enlarger thing and a number of other thinhs. When I ask for them back she says she never borrowed them. She had four of my beanie babies from my collection that were irreplaceable so I took them back and told her no I do not have this or that no matter what it was. She has Alzehemier so she just does not remember but too she has lied to me with the item I wan t back out in plain sight. So no when it comes to her my lending days are done.

My husband used to complain to me that many of his books that lent out to friends and relatives just do not come back. For my case I do not like to lend my toothbrush or towels to people! There are people who like to borrow these, I just don't know why! I think I don't like to lend these items because of hygiene purposes.

Even among my immediate and closest family like my spouse and children, we do not lend or exchange toothbrushes and towels. And if anyone ever ask me to borrow those things, then I'd just give them the items instead of lending as I sure don't want them back after they were used by someone else...

I won't lend my car or DVDs. I have lent out books in the past but it is the valuable ones which have not come back. I still lend them but don't get asked very much these days because I keep to myself.

Other than money some things that I really hate lending out are dvd's and my car. My ex husband "borrowed" some dvd's from me last year and I am still waiting to get them back! Some people can be so selfish and ungrateful! Most of the times IF I lend out my car it always gets returned with a LOT less gas than when it was lent out. You would think someone would at least have the decency to return it with either the same amount or even a wee bit more for being so nice to lend it out!

My son lent out his PS3 last weekend and only just got it back today because I told him he'd be grounded if he didn't get it back. I also told him he's never going to lend it out again!

Yes, I do have things I don't want to lend to others. My books are very important to me. There are some that I can't replace. I have lost too many that devestated me. For me the ones I have are old and I would probably never find a copy of them. They are great stories I may want to read again sometime. And, again, I have already lost some and I don't want to lose these.

Yeah i hate lending books too.. i love collecting music records, and i really hate lending it too. I had this experience before when a schoolmate borrowed one of my collections and after a few weeks when i reminded it to her, she's just like, she doesn't know where it is anymore?I mean Hello? She asked for it nicely to me, and i let her have it with full trust, but that's it, it's lost that what she told me. hmmmm... so now i hate lending anything!! Not because i think all people are like that schoolmate of mine, but just to avoid any issue anymore..
