What's wrong with drinking water on a tumbler with straw?

Funny how my officemates would make faces on me when they see me with my starbucks tumbler drink (and enjoying) my water with straw! They all ask me the same question - how and why would i do it, when it does not taste anything... I mean I just tell them i know i have water so i do not expect any taste at all - but they all argue with me that when you use a straw in drinking, then somehow it must be used with a juice, iced tea or softdrinks... never with plain water! ha haIts okay with me and i feel good drinking ice cold water with straw... so why would it bother them?! Does it bother you now that i am sharing this? =)

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well i can understand your situation and i think it is the duty of the people to talk about others and i think it is really cool to have cold water with a straw so that u can feel the chillness of each water drops. Let them say whatever they want u enjoy your drinking.

haha oh that is the kind of attitude i wish i can just have, i mean i usually am just would say my piece and will wish not to have anything more to talk about with these people. =) oh and yes, i do enjoy drinking my water. :D thank you for your reply! God bless!

That is weird that they would complain about that. Oh well though as long as you are happy.That is what matters. I drink water with a straw as well. It's just easier to drink ANY liquid with a straw. Don't let them get to you.

Chiyosan, sometimes just don't understand why some people like to think weird stuff about others. When i was still working before i like to insert a straw in my bottle. It is so that convenient for me to drink my water. But my colleagues would laugh and said that i look like a kid. They feel that adult should not drink that way. I think every people have their own different opinion. By the way, i think it is no harm to drink water using that way, as long it don't harm our health.

hi there myfb. I am sure happy that i am not the weird one. i guess when people see and feel that things should only be done by a certain age group... of course i do not think this should be the case... people must understand that we all have our preferences - in drinking water, in their preference for what they would want to drink, etc.

Sometimes weird looking things may give you good enjoyment. People will find nothing in it but you still enjoy it. I have never heard such a strange story but it is true.
I also love to do weird things myself. Like having coffee with a straw. Ha ha
