true friends.......what does it mean to you?

Friendship is different for everyone. Its a connection between two people and no two friends are the same to us either. Though it is a concept most would know i had to learn this the hard way because I had friends who treated each other what I thought as better, than me, and I started becoming jealous. I lost those friends because I couldn't accept their friendship is just different than mine with them, not better. A friend is someone who you can rely on. It may be something different for each person that you rely on them for but they will be there for you.

I have considered a lot of people my true friends because i have been with them for a long time and that i feel i am a true friend to them. But mostly these people have turned their backs on me on several instances and it hurts really bad. I learned that it is really hard to find true friends, one is not a true friend only when he or she is able to sing a song line with you when you forget it, one is not a true friend only because of being together for years, but for me a true friend is when you both have gone through hard times and he has never left you. one is a true friend when you have been mean, bad, and a lot of other bad attitudes but he or she corrects you and stands by you. one is a true friend when you made mistakes even if you did not listen to them and yet when they see you sad of cry, they would be on your side ready to comfort you. People are of different nature, but then when we are with them we will never really know their true colors - nott even years of being friends with them, they can say they accept you, they like you to be their friend and they can share a lunch or dinner or coffee with you but when it comes to liffe's trials they are the first to go and leave you when you need a hand to pick up you. Finding such a person is hard, when you do do not take them for granted and appreciate them.

There is a definition or proverb about the true friend as "A friend in need, is a friend indeed". A true friend always comes in front of us to help us but bad friends come only during our good time but they fly away during our bad times.

frankly speaking, you or I cant decide our true friends by applying others definitions. I would consider someone as my true friend, as he listens and praise whatever i say. Someone finds a true friend, who pays at the time of need. Another person like one of his friend too much, b'cos she moves fingers on his hair for a sound sleep. Yes, I can count my true friends on one hand. To me a true friend is someone who is there for you through thick and thin. They have your back and are there for you even when you think you don't want them to be there with you or for you. You should be able to depend on that person no matter what. you are right. in different times and moments in our lives, we encountered and met our friends. some have stayed as such until now, and some have gone. but many remain in touch with we are experiencing. we gather together and talk about life and future. many of my best moments in life are spent with friends.

I think it is far better to have a few friends that are true, rather than people in your life that you can not trust. True friends are people that want to come to see you or be with you for who you are not for what they can get out of you. I have a few select friends that I know no matter what they will always be there for me and I will be sure to be there for them.
