Maybe

From my journal at www.my-poetry.org Maybe -- written July 15th, 2002 Once more I write to you, Hoping you don't feel the way I do. All my dreams won't ever come true, Even though they're filled with happiness and virtue. Maybe I'm cursed to the fullest extent, And my existence wasn't even meant. Maybe I wasn't meant to love like everyone else. Maybe I was meant to stay by myself. Maybe I should separate myself from the world, And none of my prayers shall ever be heard. One day when I slowly die, I doubt even one person would even cry. No one would even give me a second thought, Because of all the unhappiness I had sought. The only person in the world who loves me is me, And unfortunately, that's how it will always be. Written July 15th 2002 Haha... I must admit that I was quite dramatic as a teenager.. Quite the drama queen.. classic teen love story.. searching for love at a young age.. smart, beautiful, popular, intelligent, athletic, ambitious girl.. yet couldn't ever find that one for me.. until 2012.

Well, the good thing is you realized that you loved yourself, and especially as a teenager, this is an important thing. And now like you said yj found your special someone so you know this does not matter as much now but very important. Thanks for sharing.

Yea.. I find that most of the things we're searching for.. we have to find within ourselves first.. hard lesson to learn if you didn't already know. I am hoping he's my special someone.. today we are on the outs.. I guess the beginning of a relationship is always the best... if only things could stay that way for all-time. Thanks for commenting!!

Your poem it's specific for teenagers. I'm a teenager and i have times when i feel like this. I think we should not be ashamed when we'll look back and see that we were ''drama queens'', because this type of thing it's normal. Teenagers search for them own identity, for their scope in life and so many things, they may find what they look for or..like you they may not find them right away, but after some years . So, I think you should not be ashamed because you were a ''drama queen'' when you were a teenager, all of the teenagers are like this :).

Haha, I guess you can say that, I was a teenager when I wrote it.. about 15 or so. I think everyone reaches a point in their life when they feel like this. It's not necessarily age-specific. But, I do agree with you when you say that being a teenager consists of a lot of searching for your own identity and self-worth.. because if you don't fully love yourself, then how can you possibly love someone else? Thanks for sharing your views, they are greatly appreciated!!

So you found the ONE last year. Congratulations. Your poem shows you to be a melancholic person. No worry, there are plenty of us in the world. I hope you will transform to a happy person, and maybe rewrite a happy poem to reflect your current state of being, and share it with all of us. Congrats! (not on the sad poem, but on your current happiness.)

Haha yea after long years of searching and a bad marriage, I found the "one"! I am hoping he will ask me to marry within 5 years from now, being that I am 25 now.. he is 23 and will turn 24 in a few days. I can be quite melancholy at times when things do not go my way, which can be frequent.. it tends to get me down.. especially when I try SO hard. I have a few current poems that I haven't made it around to posting yet.. but I look over my old ones a lot and it clearly shows how much I've grown as a person. Haha I know what you mean & thanks for sharing your thoughts!!
