I wonder why so many people have problem to trim down their body fats when the best solution is fasting. I don't do fasting before but I do it for religious purpose but then I just do it 3 consecutive days and I remember I still eat because I can't resist it. I eat one meal a day only or skip the rice. There is no exercise involve and I just skip the rice. I noticed I have no belly fats anymore, my arms get smaller and my butt it flattens. I see someone who has a very big butt, I wonder all the extra rice goes there.

Actually in our family no one bread or something in morning. We eat only rice in lunch. But in dinner,we usually take breads.I ahve read somewhere that if there is rice in your menu, then you are likely to gain more weight.

Hi averygirl, Doctors don't recommend fasting for losing weight, but if you want to lose weight fast, there is an even better way. Eat nothing but apples for three or four days and you will lose more weight than just by fasting. Eat any and all kinds of apples and nothing else but take a tablespoon or two of Olive oil before retiring at night. Blessings.

Yeah, I don't actually hear doctors recommending fasting. Fasting is said to be good for detox so by eating apples that I guess is really healthy but I am afraid of taking fruits with empty stomach because I remember I vomit when I ate pineapples or tamarind and I am hungry.

There are so many fattening things that one does not really need to eat! If one stops eating them, then I'm sure you will see your body weight diminishing! The three daily meals are enough, but it's other things, like eating chocolate, sweets, biscuits and things like that which are terrible for us!,

People eat a lot of fatty foods and avoid the healthy foods that is less fattening. Rice is the culprit I found out.

A lot of people think that it is extreme when you go fasting. What they don't realize is you can actually just abstain if you can't really do a fast. Like what I am doing right now. I am slowly converting to vegan, so I limit my meat intake to once a week if I can help it. I only run into a fix when I am outside and I have forgotten to bring my own vegan snacks because that means I have to eat at fast food restaurants. One of my reasons for turning vegan isn't because I want to lose weight (though I really need to do so), but rather for health purposes. I have read something about lowering cholesterol levels with a vegan diet. I guess it's just the will power of a person if they really want to lose weight or not.

It's will power. I have no plans to lose weight but just to try fasting. My sister used the master cleanse diet, she buy slimming teas but does not lose weight. I am happy to lose my fats.

Yes, it is one way of losing weight but unfortunately it is not the healthier way of losing those extra pounds. To lose weight does not mean to eliminate food altogether but to lessen the amount of food intake from each kind of food needed yo have a balanced meal.

I am not sure if it is healthy but I melt the fats around my waist. We still need to eat but we eat in small portion.

Yes, fasting does get you thinner but then it slows down your metabolism so the next time you eat a lot, your body will take longer to digest it because your body has a defense mechanism for famine and when it detects that you don't eat too much, it slows down the burning of your fats and conserves it as an energy storage. Fasting is only a temporary fix. Without exercise, burning fats will be difficult. When you fast, you just minimize the calories but you need exercise if you want to burn them

It slows down the metabolism? Let me see, I just tried it a few months ago and the fats has not returned. I balance it I do fasting and then when fasting is done I overeat again.

You have a very nice body type then. So many people want to be skinny but find it so hard to do. I cant be skinny in diet alone, I'm glad it works for you though.

Your diet plan MAY work for you...but it is NOT a plan for all humans. Each person has a differentt metabolism, a different way of burning calories, a different cholesterol function (one trait that is inherited) and a different "fat" burning furnace in their body! What's good for the goose...is NOT always good for the gander!

Probably, I work a lot too or stressed my self so it also helps. I go hungry quickly especially after an hour of doing hard work.

While you are right that fasting is one way that you are able to lose a lot of weight in a short period of time, it is not really a healthy way to lose weight that you intend to keep off. The reason that fasting is not a healthy way to lose weight is because of the fact that when you are not eating, your body will go into a state of starvation and when that happens, you will find that when you do start eating again, you will gain a good portion of the weight that you've lost back in the form of fat so that your body can prepare for the next period of starvation.
