Owning knowledge is a kind of privilege?!

Here in my college, many professors do not like to share their knowledge in their research fields. Their teaching comments only locate in the textbooks, far from the key points. If the students want to know some knowledge in the field, they should work for the professors for several years almost for free, then "stolen" the knowledge by themselves. In many other countries, like American, they now share the open classes on the internet and all the people can learn the classes free. While professors here still stick to the old ways. I think in their value, knowledge is a kind of privilege.

Many people do not like to share their knowledge because they are afraid someone will steal their ideas. But there are also people who don't care. Who will share and it's up to the "students" if they do something with it or not.

Maybe you are right. It is quite hard for people keep themselves in an advantage place, so owning some special knowledge can be a way to keep that. That may be the reason for the professors to do that. But as we know in the modern world, it is easier to get what you want to know through the internet. While teachers also can get something by the way of sharing knowledge with students. Students are usually the ones with fresh ideas and powers.

A person will gain best rewards when whatever knowledge he/she has is shared and applied by others. The more that knowledge is useful to others, the more rewards he/she deserves. That rewards will continue even long after the person leaves this earth.

I think so. Here many knowledge be treated as secret, many teachers do not want to share with other people, and sometimes makes me doubt whether they really have it. The knowledge here is used as a bait to get someone interested in it or a tool to fight against enemy.

Well, that's a horrible thing. Teachers/professors should share their knowledge with their students. It is their obligation.Their duties and responsibilities are attached with their profession as "Teach-ers". right? Well, if that's the case of being dependent in textbooks then they are incapable to teach.

I think there is a lot of knowledge which can be written on the books but will really useful in working and researching, such as the way to solve problems. To many students, they go to school is to study something which they can not get by themselves. Teachers should some practices to make the students learn the knowledge. When students meet problems in the process, teachers should be share the experience with them or at least act as a leader. While here many teachers read the book in the class and then give out the topic while do not spend any time with students now.
