I feel nothing. What should I do?

It has been about a week or so. I feel like I have no spirit in everything I do. I have a job to do but I can't seem to keep my head on it. I have played games to make me feel better but soon I feel bored with the game. I sit in front of my laptop but I don't know what to do. I try to do my work but soon close it all. I watch movies, but get bored with them. Listen to music doesn't help as well. I talk to my parents, hang out with them, discuss things, watch the TV together, but when I get back to my room, I feel nothing again. I feel lazy. I don't want to do anything. And I have deadlines. I feel like "aaaarrrrrrgggghhhhhhh!!!" but then "eeerrrrhhhhh" and then . I don't even know what I want to do. Have you ever felt the same?

Yes I did and there are times it's good to feel or be lazy. But in most cases I am forced to go on, no matter if I like it or not. This is what we call taking your responsibilities.

I know. And my responsibility is my deadlines. But yes, I have taken enough rest I think, so I'm ready to go on.

Unfortunately, this happens to everyone. People get down on life and only they can fix it. We can give you suggestions but you a lone can solve the true issue. If you really have no idea what is wrong, you should seek counseling. There is nothing wrong with seeking a specialist to help you work through your issues.

"We can give you suggestions but you a lone can solve the true issue." I like it; what you said is so right! Yes, people have given me a good suggestions but if I haven't done anything then it's all for nothing. So true. But I'm silly if I don't want to try any of those suggestions, right? It means I want to have issues for myself. So, I have done one thing at a time. First, I did the good sleep. And I really had a good one so this morning when I woke up, I already felt better. Tonight, I'm going to go out just for fun, and rent a good movie, and going to watch it. And the next day, I might want to spoil myself with a good food. Hmm...yum... But again you're right, I have to act and do it. Thank you.

Have I ever felt the same? Often. I find there's two ways to deal with it. Either get moving, doing something that's perhaps not too important but at least gets me on my feet and the blood flowing. After that I tend to feel a little more energetic. The alternative is just to accept that that is how I feel, and try and sleep it off.

I think a brisk walk is an excellent idea. Some physical exercise and fresh air might perk you up.

Uuugghh...that's it!!!! Sometimes I go out of my room just to get the fresh air! Do you think taking a walk in the morning will help? I haven't done it much now. You're right, I think I need to get my blood flow a little.

I have felt that way before. I was depressed at the time. Unhappy about my job, my life, my debts and the seemingly lack of opportunity to change things.

Have you considered to change your job? It might help. Maybe you need a new environment as well. And who knows you can find a new job with a better salary to help you out with the debts? Don't feel bad. Good opportunities are just right there. Maybe all you need to do is just look around. Good luck.

It could be the time of the year or it's the lack of some type of food. When I feel sleepy and tired, and feel like nothing makes sense,I eat citrus fruits or use Cayenne pepper in my food or some other hot spices. One weekend I had business to do outside my town and I wasn't at home for two days,I didn't touch my PC and when I came back, I was so curious about what happened during that time and I was full of energy again.Maybe you should quit everything for one day and see what happens.

Oh, so that's it? Leave everything for a day or two. Hmmm...I think I can do that! I have ever deactivated my Facebook and Twitter account for two days and I didn't even feel guilty. You think I spend too much time on them? Don't answer, I know I do. I will try that, but for the spicy food, well I don't think I want to try because I don't like spicy food. I don't hate it, I just don't like it.

Yes...yes...that's a great idea! I'm just about to deactivate my Facebook account when the page isn't available. Maybe there's a trouble or something. I'll try again later.

:) You don't have to eat anything spicy, not good for sensitive stomach and when eaten in the evening, it keeps you awake too long, it's more like a radical option. :D As for Facebook and Twitter, you have the right to make your Facebook friends and Twitter followers wonder where you are and it's a good way to see who cares the most, because the first messages sent after your "disappearance" are from real friends.Like: where are you?Are you OK?I called you yesterday and you didn't answer?Haven't seen you here for two days,I miss you.And stuff like that.

Well, I think you are so right!!! Apparently the sleep that I had wasn't real sleep as I also thought about work before sleep. But last night, I put all work down, and sleep. And you know what? This morning I woke up fresh! I'm so glad!

Hello MissPiggy, I understand you, sometimes I feel like "winter", on friday I posted a nice comment I loved from J. Henry Newman. Hi, Dainy, thank you for posting the comment. Yes, sometimes human feels they don't have enough while they actually have everything. It is because they don't feel they're blessed. I feel I'm blessed all the time, but somehow, I'm just a human. I sometimes spend too much on life and forget the owner of the life who blesses us.

I feel the same way as you, I am feeling rather bored and it also makes you feel rather low as well. I think with it being so cold as well as dull out side do not really help much, as there are less people calling to say hi and it is not warm enough to even go out into the garden, rather than being stuck in the house.

hi jugsjugs you know whats snapped me out of a period of feeling sorry for me?, A homeless woman still camped out on an old used sofa behind the Vietnamese grocery store.See my room looks out on this . I even called a homeless shelter and they picked her up and she was gone for just two day s and now is anted to help but I now do not know how. It has made me glad though and grateful for a place to live not that I would not have p referred being in our own apt again with my adult son. but this is so much better than being homeless and on the street.

@Jugsjugs: Someone suggested me to do the things that I love to do. I think he's right. I've always wanted to watch a good movies lately but I haven't got the time to do it. So that's what I'm going to do tonight. I've had enough sleep last night after I put down all work and didn't even try to think about them before I slept and I have felt better today. So that's what I'm going to do it tonight as well to make me feel good. And Hatley also reminds us to always remember that we are blessed. It works alright as well.

Much better of you go out and go to a park or a mall. It might make you feel better. If you feel constrained in your home, just leave for awhile and look for places that would keep your thoughts.

I sure did MissPiggy and I would even sing the song Today I don't feel like doing anything... and during those times it actually made me tired doing Nothing. What I did to snap out of it was taking a cold bath and perked me up to reality.

It kind of sounds like depression, it makes you lose interest in things you used to enjoy. Before you worry though, how about trying to go out? It doesn't sound like you're really 'doing' much lately, other than sitting at home, and working. Maybe you would benefit from some fresh air and the company of a friend?

That's it. You really have the point. I also think I'm depressed and in fact, I also almost get the fever symptom. I have taken a deep rest last night, and tonight I'm to go out to rent a good movie and watch it. I hope tomorrow I feel really good. Thanks.

Such things happen every now and then to everyone. First thing that I would suggest you is to get yourself a good deep sleep. When you are constantly deprived of good deep sleep, then you tend to face such things. You must be feeling very low on your energy, I would suggest you to get yourself a good energy drink and something that can boost your mood up. Are you enjoying your work?? This is the most important thing . Sometimes, doing the work which you do not enjoy may also make you feel low because this is not something that you wanted in your life. So, if you are not, then change the job, if it is not possible, then take a break, like a couple of days and just hang out somewhere. Cook a good meal and eat it. When I say good meal, I really mean that royal meal which you could do for yourself. I read somewhere that eating really tasty meal and something that is really fulfilling and satisfying can really boost up your energy and make your day. With all these, one more thing you need to do is, believe that you are happy and energetic. If you still not feeling good mentally, I mean, if you really feel the same even after trying a lot, then you need to consult a doctor to find if there is any problem in you. Now a days , because of a lot of stress, there are a lot of illness coming in and making our days so sobier.

First, I sleep a lot. But it makes me want to stay on bed even more. Second, that's it. I think you're right. I might need a vitamin or something to keep me fit. Usually a good sip of coffee helps a lot, but it doesn't. So yes, I think this kind of energy drink or vitamin is what I need. I enjoy my work actually. But maybe I take too much time on work and also take too many side jobs and the deadlines are killing me. (Oops...I think this is my mistake!) Food?! Oh my! I can't cook, but my mom is the best cook ever, so I think I'm going to ask her to cook for me. An expensive food. Hmmm...that's an idea! Thanks. Last, actually I always feel happy and energetic. Even my friends always wonder how they never see me sad and weak. But hey, I'm just a human, right? Sometimes I also feel sad and weak. And you have a point (again) that these days even the weather is unfriendly. So I think I'm going to do your suggestion number 3 as soon as possible. Thank you.

If these feelings last another couple of weeks, please go see your doctor. It sounds like depression. That doesn't mean you will be put on medication. You could have a vitamin deficiency and not know it. For instance I have a shortage of B12, so I take the vitamin in an over the counter form.

You're right!!! Maybe I'm depressed! But I don't want to see the doctor. Is B12 a vitamin? Because I plan to take some vitamin to keep me fit. Besides, the weather in my country is really unfriendly lately, so I think I really need the vitamin. And a holidayyyyyyyyyyyy...

I have a period losing my goal of life. During that period, I thought nothing was important, and did not find out nothing interesting. So I got up late in the morning, surfing the internet all day. At last, my senior set a goal for me, through the process to reach the goal, I find self-confidence and find something I want to do in my life.

Hi Miss Piggy: Actually I can say that I have felt exactly the way you feel. And it's really sad because you feel this emptiness in you. Try to be with friends or do the things you enjoy. If nothing makes you feel good, then try to find something new to do like painting or writing or join a group that make you feel passionate but don't let this feeling stays with you for long. ALVARO

Thank you so much for your suggestion, Alvaro. And thank God I feel better today. You are right, I haven't done the thing I like lately. Even when I play the games, my mind still runs around like can't focus in the games. I want to watch a good movie and I haven't done it. So yes, since I feel better, I'm going watch a good movie tonight to make me feel good.
