Whenever i get money, i always want to go shopping and get new clothes! I dont know why, i feel like i have to fit in with everyone and be "cool." But does this really make you cool? I wish i could save my money and spend it on something else worth while, but i cant control yourself! Does anyone else agree?

I do have sympathy for children wanting the newest clothes and things because there are big pressures to fit in with whatever is considered to be cool. And sometimes children can get bullied for not having the newest things.Though of course they need to be taught that they can't just have anything that they want or they will grow up having a bad attitude towards money.I know people who got everything that they wanted as a kid and now as adults have troubles financially as they buy everything they want.

My children never Always wanted new clothes. Also they never ask for it. It was the same with me and my siblings. So those kids who Always want new clothes are probably the kids who are raised that way.. the way they only are someone if they look the same like the rest of the sheep in the cattle. And no you are not cool or will every belong to that cattle if it's only because of your clothes.

Are you a kid? LOL! I used to buy my own stuff when I was a young teen, mostly my own clothes, makeup, cds from the time I was about 12. I have 4 siblings so really, if I wanted things of my own, I had to earn my own money and buy it myself. The worst part about clothing - which still seems to be true - is that it tends to cost more the more time goes buy. Little tiny toddler clothes are fairly cheap, but when you start shopping in the juniors dept because your 3 year old is now 13, instead of being able to get pants for $3, they all cost $15-50 - EACH. My parents used to give us a limit in how much we could spend. It was up to us really to choose how we spent it, so being somewhat practical I would choose things in the midrange of prices so I could buy more pieces and therefore have more outfit opportunities. I also supplemented my wardrobe with items I bought myself. These days I buy stuff if A. I need it B. I can find it fairly cheap C. it makes sense to buy it - clearance, end of season, I may never see it again, etc.

My children are for ever wanting new shoes, trainers, boots and clothes and I have to say that I have not bought myself a bit of clothing in years. I have clothes that my family have bought me again this year, like they did last year and I will say that I have not worn them.I think that now that I no longer go out I need less clothes to wear and with having skin that irratate all the time I stay in a night shirt most of the time.

It is because you do not feel you are obliged to save money for the family and all you think of is yourself. But when you get married and have kids, you will know that slowly, your priorities would not be your wants and needs but those of your family.

I remember being a kid and wanting to have cool clothes. You are a normal kid. I babysat to earn money for clothes. I also was in sewing class and made some really cool stuff. In my 20's I lived by a really great second hand store that had tons of never worn clothing in my size. Size 4. As I got older I stopped caring so much. I wear sweats around the house in the winter and jeans when I go out. A few nice things are for parties.
