Does Freewill Really Exist?

Do you believe in freewill?
I was thinking about the comments people make about free will.
We have been told we have free will to choose what ever we want. But if we think about it, we are all born with a different and unique brain.
Whatever happens to us, whatever experiences we go through we will choose what action to take based on our thinking which is related to the brain we are born with. For example each person will come out differently from the same experience because of the brain they are all born with.
If we are born with a certain brain which is in a way wired to think in a certain way when certain experiences happen to us then do we really have freewill?
Or is it wired in a certain way where the choices we make means it is destined to be like that so therefore freewill may not even exist? Because we had no choice but to think this or to take this action because the way the brain is wired up makes us do it?

free will. For some it exists, for some it doesn't. For me, it does 
we are often led by emotions, needs and instincts, that's true. But to make a decision sometimes requires more than that. Especially if something depends on that decision. We always have a choice: yes or no. Or, and that's really crazy about the whole matter it's something we didn't expect. And I guess in such situations where we do or decide something ''unexpected'' we realize that free will does exist. I.e. the opportunities/options are there and we pick one of them.

Hi thank you for your comment. I know the freedom of speech is one thing we have, as well as our choices and actions and decisions we make are our control.

My housemate and I talk about this all the time. In my opinion, we each make choices based on experience/desire/the person we want to be, are, or were (which of those three that make the decision depends on mood/situation mostly).

Hi shining star: I think so. Of course as you mention in your discussion, there are things we can't control like for example where we born, our parents, our economical status but we have the power to decide in our lives. We can be slaves of the circumstances but when we get aware that we always have a choice and that we have the power to decide what we can do with our lives will find a way.
I am not saying it's easy. If you don't have the money or the influences the way will be hard but if you are focused to do what you want to do and you work for it, this could make a difference in your life.

Thanks for the reply. I guess that all makes sense.I know we all make choices of what we want to do in life like our job, choices of other stuff, etc.

I do believe we have free will, but just because we can do whatever we want doesn't mean that we should or that it's good for us to do whatever we want.

We do have freewill, complete freewill. We can do and say what we like.
Of course, freewill is restricted a little by our social commitments - Work, Family and general life.
So we are left with very little freewill...
The heavily devout believers amongst you lose that completely when you believer everything the book tells you

Thanks for the reply. Could our commitments be our choices we made being that it is something we are committed to in our lives? Or I guess we all had no choice as we can't choose our family and we have no choice but to work or we can't live very well.
But having a choice to say what we like, we can think what we like, eat and drink what we like, choose our friends if they choose you too and act in the way we like I guess is our freedom. Yes a little freedom is there.
