do you try to keep your comments short on MyLot because you want to make the most money for your time? I can't help it, if I have a thought, I have to write my complete thought down, even if it's long-winded.

I think the way it works here is "the more we type, the more we earn"... I don't try to keep my posts here short or long, I just type whatever I have in mind one way or the other... I do enjoy reading well written long posts here...

I'm the same, I must have missed you on my firt few runs through this topic! Shame on me. I've been told that same phrase and I do believe that is true, we type and earn from it, the more the better. Though I don't purposefully go long winded just because of that phrase. I also love well written discussion that catch my attention and a well written response really does make my day.

What you are suggesting is basically a fallacy and is probably only practised by people who have been told that "MyLot pay 1 cent per post" or something similar. MyLot DO NOT pay 'per post'. Your earnings are calculated on the quality of your participation over 24 hours. Making a quality contributions to just a handful of discussions will very likely be far more remunerative than dozens of worthless comments. Personally, I try to keep my responses and comments on topic, direct, free of redundancy and as readable as possible. I have found that MyLot has greatly improved my writing style over the years. I have learned to organise my thoughts much better and this results, I believe, in good quality contributions which earn me good ratings and many 'Best Responses'.

I have heard of the 1 cents per post idea. but really I don't know how to e the pay scale work here. but I do think that it's not enough money to be made here to do it if you don't enjoy it.. I actually don't mind voicing my opinion or conversing with others on topics that I have an opinion on. and getting paid for it is definitely an attractive feature. but I don't know how enjoyable experience would be if I had some limit my post to a certain word count.

To be able to write to the point by keeping the comment short is an art. I have it and so I use it. But there is no hard and fast rule here how short or long a comment should be. It is left to the user to read or not to read if they find comments are too long.

I have not accomplished this art. I feel like I must get all the details in. However, I do think that when people post long questions, they're more likely to not be read.

I write what I truly feel, if it is long then that is the way it is. If what I have to say is short and sweet then so be it. I just always put my true feelings here, nothing left out or shortened if I have a lot to say...

Yes. I am very interested in getting my true feelings across. I don't want anyone to be confused about what I am saying. A lot of times that calls for a lot of words. I just hope that the poster takes the time to read it.

You and I are alike LMB, if I have a lot to say you're going to get an earful but I think those times are somewhat rare for me.

I think, most people, just write whats on their mind. If it's short than it's short, if it's long than it's long. I think, most people here at mylot believe it is a pay per post deal. I thought, it was until I read this page.

Dont worry lampar i like your responses and comment whether it is short or long. It depend of idea come in your mind. Why want to force ourself to write it long if we dont have any idea.

My responses are usually 4 or even 5 dimensional..lol I am never satisfied with the way I word my comments. I am also afraid that if I swallow some words, which I frequently do, somebody will misinterpret, and feel bad when I didnt intend to do so. Because of this, my answers do tend to be long. But it is never done with the intention to earn more.

I ve found, most of your responses are based on your own feelings on an issue, though sometimes, we are to see things from others point of view too. But frankly speaking i enjoy poking...lol.

i just keep it short because sometimes reading a very long post can be boring. i have had responders who post very long comments and i had to read it 2x because i get lost in the middle but i appreciate all comments... whether long or short

Most of the time I write down what I really feel that time after reading a certain discussion. Sometimes it's short and direct, and sometimes I feel like the need to expound it a bit more thereby making my response longer than what I wanted it to be. I just hope that the poster would appreciate it, lol! At any rate, I find that I tend to write a longer response whenever I can relate to the discussion really, really well.

It sounds like most of us aim for short, but some of us often feel the need to add length to get our point across. Like you, I just hope that my words don't fall on deaf ears.

I do short comments on exactly what i just think of. sometimes short response cant express your true feelings to say. so I prefer for a long response to express my true feelings to say.

I dont think here in mylot, length of comments are related to money. Its only your art in expressing a subject. Sometimes, I ve found, people are filling comments with repetition of same philosophy inside the subject matter, which i dont think is required. Sometimes, its even very boring to search the real focus area. So i think, its always better to put your main point of discussion within 5 to 10 lines only. Again, its my personal thinking only. Thank you.

If you can reinterate an individual thought toward the response in a short comment then why not? As long as you're furthering the response in some way I don't see a problem with that.

If I read a discussion, and my comment come out long well, I can't help it I have to say, what I have to say, and that is all to it, but when I have nothing to say, I keep it short, like right now I have nothing to say, so you see how short I left this.

My responses vary. Sometimes they consist of only three sentences, sometimes five, and sometimes more than ten. It depends on the discussion I'm answering. If they need a long response then I spend time writing everything I want to write. Sometimes, three to five sentences is enough as long as I already answered the questions asked. Since our posts are assessed by their quality and not by the number of our sentences, I sometimes prefer short answers. Happy mylotting.

I heard somewhere that the key to a good communication is brevity so to me, yes. As much as I can, I want to be precise and keep my comments short. Reading long post can sometimes be boring. But there are times we can't avoid writing long comments because there's just to many things to share.

If I have a lot to say, then I'll speak what I want so I could explain it clearly. But if I feel like answering in a few lines or even words, then I would also. It actually just depend on the topic that you are giving comment to... and also from what comes into your mind as a reaction to the topic you have just read.

Hi ! I am a man full of words , in other words talkative ! I don't know how other people expresses themselves in a phrase only ! I for one can't just comment in one sentence . I felt that with 1 or 2 sentences i can't fully expressed myself. I don't care if i made already a paragraph and the reader somewhat mad , as long as i have delivered things i wanted to.

it depends on my feelings towards the discussion. I don't want to be hypocrite person. I always wanted to be natural so I respond naturally and honestly.when I am not in the mood in responding the topic it is really short or someone beside me interrupt while responding the topic here in internet.but When I am "Hyper' I make it so long .I just wanted always to be real.and give my own view.especially if my life do relate with that topic.

For me it depend on some responses. If the responses have a lot of point which is give me a lot of idea i will comment it with long comment but most of my comment is short.
