I spent some lovely days in the country.

I missed mylot, but I confess that I did not miss it as I thought I would. I stayed a few days with some good friends at a lovely adobe house and later I went ti a small town in the south where I spent 4 more days with one of my aunts. Have you gone some place lately? Did you have fun? I will download some pictures I took there to show you. I`m happy but my diet will have to start again

I have not been doing a very good job of staying up with even your discussions. I keep them in my inbox while I put most of the discussions into a folder to look at when I am up to it. I often forget about mylot right now. I have so many other things going on right now that I'm lucky if I even get to my email at all right now. I haven't been anywhere lately, but I will be going to St. Louis for some Red Cross training at the end of the month (unless something happens between now and then) and to Thailand in April or May. That will not be set in stone until I get the plane ticket though and that won't be until the ticket prices go back down some time after Chinese New Year. I wouldn't worry too much about your diet. I'm sure that if you just eat sensibly, the fact that you "fell off the wagon" won't be so bad. Have a great weekend!!!

I know how it is to hate my body. I just wish I could get a whole new one! I found out last week that the bump on my belly was cancer and I will have that removed next Thursday. I have been having abdominal issues again so I know the disease is not all gone. I try to keep from imagining things because every new pain is the potential of a new problem and I don't need any more problems. I will be staying in the hospital Wednesday night because they said there was a problem with my blood thinner and they said not to take it that day. I just wish that the medical problems would all just go away, but I think the only way that will happen is if I drop this body and I don't intend to do that quite yet. I will let you know more when I know more. Have a great weekend!!!

Let`s hope everything turns out fine. I will be in and out hospitals ( not overnight though) until March 14th. If I survive all that, I promise I`ll go somewhere for a few days.

I guess the diet is one of the things I do to keep my mind off other more important things, Deb. My oncologist is asking me for another PET CT. When I see big exams, I start imagining many things, all of them possible. I´m in a pause to call the hospital where they do that sacan for an appointment. I hate my body sometimes! But you know what that means.

It is so good to get away at times isn't it? And enjoyable to see family and friends. I am happy that you enjoyed yourself especially whilst staying in an adobe hpuse. I have never been inside one like that as none here on our Island. I would not worry about your diet as you cannot diet whilst on holiday. Food is part of the celebration with family and friends. I have started dieting today as have put on 12 pounds since I returned from the U.K. and came home. So today is the day and I an drinking some tea to detox to get all the c*ap out of me

Enterttainment comes along with eating and drinking too much, I`m afraid. One of the highlights of my stay at my aunt`s house was a party that a neighbor gave. He made a paella (the best I have eaten) with a recipe he has from his Spanish family. I loved it!

Sounds like you had fun. I envy you a little. I don't travel any more. Not that I'd have the money to travel anyway now, but I just can't sit very long at a time so even a plane flight is out of the question. Welcome back. Now knuckle down and get back to that diet! By the way, how's that going? Or rather how was it going before you went visiting.

The diet was over as soon as I reached my destination. But it was worth it. Anyway, I feel that my real diet will start after I talk to the doctor in March. So all I do before is just an extra. Of course I came back with a couple of extra pounds, but I think that two days at home will shed them. Why can´t you sit enough as to go in a plane? My doctor told me to walk up and down the aisle in order to move my legs so they don´t swell so much.

It's been a while since I've had the chance to get away for even an overnight trip. Right now circumstances with my family make it difficult, but I'm hoping to travel again soon. I could use a change of scenery, even if it was just a day trip.

It has actually been quite a while since we've had the opportunity to be away from home for an overnight experience. However, I am hoping that will be something that is going to be changing for us in the near future. That said, I have to admit that I've not been spending as much time on mylot as I typically do because of the fact that I've been spending a bit of time with my two best friends south of here. It is good for me to be able to get out and have a good time, even if it is only for a few hours.

I had a lovely time in my outing and it was not expensive at all. It was just the bus fare and some gifts I took. But by all means it was very cheap considering all the fun I had. My cousin, a hairdresser, managed to do miracles with my hair. My hair grows very slowly since the chemo so it seems that it will never reach a moment where I will have a real "cut".

Hi marguicha! Welcome back! I'm pretty sure that you enjoyed your vacation. I always travel to my place of work everyday but not for a vacation. Sometimes I feel that I need to have vacation to because I feel so stress right now. Have a nice day!

Changing from the stressing life in the city to the quiet of the country was wonderful and I had more fun than what I expected. I thought I´d just take long naps and talk some with my friends and family, but I even went to a party

I was only an hour and a half away from home. But it seemed another world, Jo. I live in a big city with millions of inhabitants and noone knows each other. Where I went, in small places, I met peopole that had known each other all their lives.

On the past few days, I haven't gone anywhere. Sadly, I spent most of the time at work during weekend. Even Sunday when I have a day off, I would rather stay home watch DVD, or spend half of the afternoon to nap. So, I didn't do anything exciting, nor I have the mood to go out. How morbid, isn't it? I wish that I can go out to exotic places like Bahamas with a couple of friends.

This outing was not the kind where you take a plane and go to sunbath at the Caribbean. Still, changing from the stressing life in the city to the quiet of the country was wonderful and I had more fun than what I expected.

Thanks, Jenny! My diet will start today as I don`t have much in the fridge. In fact, I will have to go to the super to get some bread for breakfast.

I also spent last week more lovely days because a unknown lady came from Kerala. She is Sai Bhakt stay for 1 day in my house but after meets her I feel so proud and happy because her nature was so good like we are family members. She was telling me all things about Lord Sai. She was rich but simple still I am missing her. In my town a big temple made and she came for darshan.

It is always a lovely feelings to catch up with some close family and relatives and spend some quality time with them. I had also been to my aunt's place recently in a small village and got to stay there for around a week and I had one awesome trip then, and I never regret going there in spite of no technology and that place being so rural and I literally had nothing of my sort to do there. Still, I had my family there and I had one of those great moments there in my aunt's place.

I did not have internet there, but I had time to catch up in some reading. And, as you say, my friends and family provided all I needed.
