I am pretty lazy reading long mylot discussions and just skip them. I just look for some short discussions and post some reactions and comments. Do you find time reading such?

If the first few lines of a discussion seems interesting enough, then I read the whole discussion. And would try as much as i can to give my honest opinion about it. But if the first few lines would be a total bore.....next discussion, please!

hi there jenny! haha i like your honesty here and actually its true, some discussions that are very long that is not very substantial just tend to be rants and have repititive points, these are the kind of discussion i do not reply to anymore... =(

There are even discussions that are so vague and unclear when it comes to the point they want to raise. Maybe they are just here for pure monetary reason :)

I lack time,so I generally leave discussions that are too long and complicated.I n fact,I am in a hurry to respond to at least 5-10 giscussions in the time at my disposal. If I 'waste' my time reading and understanding and then responding to long posts, then perhaps I would end up responding to just two or three discussions only. That's why I generally skip long discussions and proceed ahead looking for shorter ones.I mean, discussions that are neither too long nor too short.

Yes,you need a lot of time to attend such posts. So it is not possible for people like you and me to respond to them within the time we have.Better leave them and look for other discussions.

I think we have similarities in this matter else. It really consumes my time reading such discussions only to find out that its not worth the time.

I also prefer short discussion and avoid long discussion. I think mylot is not a place to discuss long or very serious topic. It is a place to communicate each other with short topic.

I actually love to read and if I find a title or a few sentences to be interesting enough, I read through it and respond. You see, most discussions that are long can be pretty informative and I am always excited to read new things about people here in Mylot. It makes the Mylot experience more exciting. It kind of deviates my awareness from the normal everyday news and fiction that I usually read. Most discussions here in Mylot, especially the long ones, are more like actual thoughts and opinions of different people from all over the world. This way, I get to know what other people think instead of just reading cliche stories.

I care about people, so if any discussion - long or short - is readable and I can make sense of it, I will respond to it if its something I can relate to. I have a background in nursing - med, surf, OB, ER, and psyc - so if I can help in some way, I will. I have no problem reading. It often takes several paragraphs to actually explain a situation and/ or need. I care enough about people to read their posts. I have a small select group of people who I respond to because they have great need for someone to care. I'm here for them.

Haha...We are the same. I am really lazy to read those long discussions started. But if I find it interesting in the first few lines then I'll gonna continue reading it. Mylot is just my past time in the office and so I was been able to read those long discussions. It will just a waste of time. Sorry for the term. hehehe

i have replied and read some really interesting but really long discussions. Often though they needed to be very long because there are a lot information being shared. :D But i have to admit that they had to be really substantial otherwise i am the type who would also skip reading them especially if i am pressed for time and i want to be able to share and post and create discussions here in mylot. :D Cheers and thanks for this discussion.

As English is not my mother language, it is easy for me losing attention during reading a long posts. When I read that kind of posts, I try to find some key sentences and then guess the main meanings. So in most cases, I will lose some details which may lead misunderstanding. But when I answer to the questions, I find it hard to show my ideas in short words, I will describe them with long posts.

Well, if the discussion is worth enough why I should skip into it. I am very choosy in terms of commenting a discussion because not all the discussion fit with my understanding and knowledge. I want a discussion that I know what to share and I know all about the fact that the discussion all about...

I do not mind long discussion details, as long as they are not one long paragraph. Those I will skip.

I notice some discussions are also like that. Very long discussions and at the same time, having one paragraph and sentence only.

Long and short, I just look at what they are about. I have one friend who posts really long discussions about her pets and they are so funny I laugh all the time about what happens at her house and around her neighborhood. I have also seen short discussions I like. I prefer the ones that are a little longer because you have more to respond to then.

If the title of the discussion catches my eye, and I start reading and it is interesting, then I will read the rest of it, and then give my response. In general though, it does take along time to read some of the discussions, but then that is what my;ot is about is discussing, and whether they are long or shorot, if they have substance and are interesting to me, then I will most definitely give my response.Take care and have a very good day.

I get really turned off by long discussions. You can start a discussion and say what you want in a paragraph or two. If I wanted to read a book, I would go to the library. Ask your question, post the answer in one or two short paragraphs. Easy as pie. If you're going to post a long discussion. Please use paragraphs. It's easier on the eyes. Oh...and I like to find discussions that I find interesting or I think I might have something to contribute to.

I see your point kenshin2143 :) I myself read the discussions long or short the way I listen to my friend talking about his/her problems. If I have any kind of helpful point of view then I will respond.

Well that depends. If the first sentence of the question doesn't get me reading, i dont read into it too much, i cant respond to discussions properly if I'm not interested in them or if i haven't understood them fully anyway. In making quality n responses, they have to be relevant and useful. Cant do that when your interest limits you.

I too, hate to read long discussions but sometimes when I can relate to the topic I get in to reading it even if it is very long. I'm always interested reading discussions that I can relate.
