The Most Embarassing Is I Respond a 2 Years Old Discussion here on myLot.com

I just want to express what I feel. I am a little bit embarass for responding a 2 years old discussion here on myLot.com. I never respond an old discussion. It is because I knew from the start that no one will read an old discussion especially to a thread starter. Also, I do not know if it is worth to answer an old discussion and I do not know if I can earn by responding an old discussion here on myLot.com that is why I only respond most of the latest discussion rather than the old discussion.

I've done it many times. Its just that some old topics are really interesting and I need to add my 2 cents to it. Nothing to worry about as long as you are replying something relevant.

You do not lose anything for responding to an old discussion. If it is still available on the site it is still participation when you respond. For people who are not from the US, we often say that we are putting in our two cents worth to indicate that it may not be of a lot of value, it is just our opinion, or experience. We are just adding a little bit to the discussion.

What 2 cents? You lose 2 cents for responding to an old discussion?

It's not like working for a news-network ... we're more like an 'ageless wisdom'-network. Sure, maybe the matter the starter discussed was something then-current in their life; but it's NOW-current on myLot! And if it is something the discussion starter wants to forget, it's THEIR responsibility to either delete the old discussion (i.e. to tell admin to get rid of it) or cut off their ties with myLot and leave more money for US

No reason to be embarrassed! Respond to any discussion where you have something relevant to say! There is some common misconception here that you should only participate in discussions where the thread starter / original poster is still around. That's not true... other people can continue to discuss subjects of interest whether or not that person is still going to participate! While it's great if they are still around to keep it going, the original poster does not "own" the discussion -- others can keep it lively, too. When you contribute to an old discussion, it'll bump it up so others see it and it can potentially revive a topic of interest to many. You earn through what you type here... regardless of the age of the discussion

don't sweat it,it's not a big deal. i think most people miss the date in the corner once in a while,i know i do. as long as the topic's still pretty relevant,i could care less if somebody responds to an older one of mine.i'd still answer it.

I agree with you. SO many times my attention is not at the date which tells you how old the discussion is. I just see the topic, read the description and respond. Though sometimes once in a blue moon it could be a bit embarassing. When there is a discussion like - I went out for dinner, or some one was at the hospital, I check the date. Who knows something happened to them 5 years back and you are sympathising with them today. That would be embarassing.

A pleasant day IntrovertShy, As far as I know, it is fine to respond an old discussion, hence, it doesn't have anything to do with earnings. Thus, if you participate, an earning will be credited on your participation. However, you may still check this with the Mylot Admin to make it sure. But don't feel so embarrassed.

What is wrong with an old discussion ? I find it good to respond to a 2 year discussion because i am confident that it is a quality discussion hence until now it is alive meaning it is not deleted by the admin so it simply tells us that it was such a good kind of a discussion and it is sure that we will earn from here unlike in a fresh one wherein we won't be sure if it will be deleted or not . So just enjoy joining those old ones here as much as i am also. God bless !

Personally to many of us, it does not matter how old or new a discussion is when responding back to it. Especially if the person is still active in here. I know I respond back in older discussions all the time, and from time to time have an older one of mine brought back to life. I know with mine any that are on the top 10 are discussions I make surd to respond back too and resolve before.moving on. Even if they arereally old discussions.

If you respond to older discussions, the topic starter, if they're still around, will be happy, especially if that topic has no responses to it. Responding to any topic also helps the topic starter to resolve their discussions, something hard to do if there are not enough responses on them. So continue to respond to any discussion you want to, no matter how old it is. You never know who will respond to it afterward.

echoforever, if you choose to you will be here a long time. This is the longest term site I have been to. My profile will say I have been here seven years, but really, I made my first earnings here November 14, 2006. The site started in May 2006, I believe.

I love that myLot is both long and short term. What I mean by that is we can come here daily and spend as much time as we want in the short term. It has already proven itself to be a long term site and we're both set for those short term and long term commitments within the site. I've gotten 2 payments and the 3rd will be on its way on the 15th of next month. Now that's the shortest amount of time I've gotten that amount of money in any one site. That is because I just love it here and I did have one account here before. I took what I learned from that short time and I put it into this account so I could make the best out of it in all ways. So far it is really making the time here worthwhile!

I do that all the time actually, because I am only looking at the question or the discussion and not how long it has been there. You get paid on it either way though. I mean you may not get a response, but you never know. I have seen a lot of discussions that have no responses and sometimes you can respond and to your surprise that person response back. I write in a few interest categories that I am in and I do not always get a response, but sometimes it comes a few months later haha. Good Luck and have fun.

It doesn't matter how old the discussion is, because when you respond you ear. I have responded to old discussions and earned from them, and besides some of the old discussions are bettter than the new ones out there, and so when I find one that is interesting to me and it is an old one, I will respond. About two weeks ago, I received a notification of a response to one of my discussions, and that discussion is 3 years old. So you see, there are people out there that will respond to older discussions, as long as they are interesting enough to get responses. So, respond to all the older ones you want, as you will still get paid as long as it is of a good quality. Take care, and have a very good day.

First of all, how old the discussion is does not affect your earnings. So you can respond to a 6 years old discussion and still be able to earn. It is also not necessary that the old discussion is of no importance today. Some discussions just dont diminish in importance ever. One should respond to a discussion to record what they feel. By doing this you have brought that discussion back into circulation and it may just happen that there were people who had not seen before but saw it now. It could be that some more people also wanted to discuss on the topic. Who knows? I have responded to even a six year old too just because I had a discussion in mind and suddenly saw it there on mylot. I couldnt stop myself but comment.

Only two years old!!! You could respond to some that are six years old, almost seven years old. I think MyLot came in to being in the spring of 2006. The really nice thing is that when you respond to an old discussion it comes up as a "recent" discussion and the person who started that discussion has a chance to earn from it some more, by commenting on your response. Then it becomes "recent" again, and others who like that discussion get a chance to see it and participate. It is a good thing, and nothing to be embarrassed about. I have had people bring up some of my very old discussions and it was interesting to see them again. I am a better user now and I may do more commenting back to other users.

On myLot the discussions are never out dated. In fact their still just as great as when they were written. (Well some might be as bad as when they're written too...) So sometimes I go digging here just for fun. And Especially if one of those days I just feel adventurous or nothing is catching me right at the time. I love that there are members from that long ago here. This really gives myLot so much credit. They have been here that long, they still pay, its still fun and you can do this any time you want! I love you myLot

Oh, don't be embarrass. No worries about. I think its good that you joined that discussion. As long as it interests you and the discussion is good, why hold back? It is a good thing to answer or reply to old discussion.

So this means I can still go back to my unresolved discussion from three years ago, right? I just saw the thread had 70 responses and I forgot all about it.

Oh yes you can go back to it and in fact you should! 70 responses? Dear you would earn so much just from responding well in that discussion back to those who have come to comment on it. We get paid for what we DO here not what others do. If we participate and interact we earn so much more. You're missing out on a lot of earnings by not responding to your discussions especially, but, this should be done all over the site! Its so much fun!

I do this all the time, dont worry, and besides you can't be as productive if you don't find ways to be productive, even if it entails digging up old discussions. I respond to discussions 6-7 years back.

So there is someone like me who goes digging some times. I think I wrote on your discussion though about this and like I probably said there, if you're enjoying it then do it and you will be paid for it no matter how old that discussion is. If I seriously can not find a thing I am interested in... or even just for fun too I will go digging.

Oh now i see why this is embarrassing. Dont worry Hun, this isn't Facebook, no one will think you're stalking if you accidentally respond to an ancient discussion.

I was about to do that too once, but when I was about to send my response, I saw it was a very old discussion... I think they should be moved by admins into an archive or something like this, to stop confusing us xD.
