So I have been trying to lose weight. Over the last year I lost a little over thirty pounds but I plateaued. So have have joined Weight Watchers to see if I can get the proverbial ball rolling again. This last week I lost four pounds which is the first loss in over two months so this made me happy. At this rate (if I can keep it up) I will meet my goals in about a year (giving some leeway for holidays and what not (). Wish me luck!

I do wish you luck. It is hard for us women to lose weight. One thing to remember when you reach another plateau is to change your routine. Helped me! Hope you are drinking alot of water so you don't get dehydrated. Best of luck!

That is good. I would also do some weight exercise. That seems to help as well. I had a trainer help me when I was trying to loose. Had me on a rather strict diet as well.

I am drinking water. One of my issues from severe dieting as a teen was damage to my organs and a side effect of that is I get dehydrated very easily. I do not even eat salt on my food because I will dry out and even get sores in my mouth and throat from it. As for the changing routine I was just reading a book at the doctor's office that said you should change routine every two weeks to keep the body on it's "toes" and that one should have six different routines to switch through so there is month in between when you repeat them. I spoke tot he doc about it and we drew up a plan to do so for me.

Loosing weight is never an easy thing. Most people do tend to yo yo back and forth. You loose a little, gain some back, or reach a point where you just continue to stay. Many times it really depends on how much you eat, and the time of day, as well as how much excercise. But when you see yourself continuing to loose some as you like, this makes it more worth while for sure. Wishing you the Best.

Thank you! I have dieted most of my lief and have learned some very hard lessons through the years. I am hoping that I can work past all the bad habits and actually get to a healthy point.

I have been trying to lose weight, but I guess I mostly think about how to do it. I love to cook and I love to eat. I wish you lots of luck and congratulate you for each and every pound you have lost. I know it is hard. Keep it up

Thank you and good luck to you. I have found over the last two weeks that I could tweak many of my recipes to make them healthier. Like the chicken for my General Tso's I browned the meat as usually but I did not give it it's coat of corn starch which actually cut down on my points for the weight watchers. I am slowly changing things to healthier options and I can see a difference in my kids and husband even though I am not counting calories for them just making the food healthier. I have found the weight watchers recipe builder tool to be very important and helpful for me. I do not know if other sites have anything like that but if you can find something like that it is amazingly eye opening.

Warm? Does that really make a difference? Why? How? Sorry for the questions but that is a new one for me. I do drink a lot of water but not warm...

When in a stressful situation, your body increases or decreases metabolism. In a weight loss scenario, it decreases. This is cause your body is trying to reduce the amount of toxins released into your blood. Go for a toxin cleanse and you should be fine

Yeah and the eating habit is so hard to break..there is no cold turkey or one would die so it all turns into a control issue..I don't have as much as I should apparently

Good luck!
I'm also trying to lose weight. Unfortunately I do have a lot I need and want to lose but I'm working on it. I have already lost a good bit of weight myself. I hadn't really thought about it but several people even started commenting how different I look with the weight loss I've already had, so that made me happy that it's at least noticeable lol (even though naturally health reasons are probably 90% of why I'm trying to get to a healthier place).

Although I would like to look better my health is my number one concern. I do not want to die young and want to see my 4 chickies grow up and see their families one day.

I do wish you luck. I lost 32lbs whilst in the U.K.but gained 11pounds since returning and I have to lose it. Maybe I should try weight watchers online as I just have to do something to lose it fast. It doesn't help my heart or legs any being heavier. Did you exercise a lot? I walk but not that much. I find it all a pain as not only do I enjoy food but I am also a stress eater and I have had stress lately

I used to work out more over the summer but the holidays got me off my routine so one of my big hurdles was getting back to that and amping that up some. I am liking the Weight watchers a lot. I like that I can put in my recipes and figure out the points as well as play with them to bring them down in calories and points.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well that is great to hear about your weight loss spree and i think u should not get disheartened if u are seeing any immediate effects. i think if u are serious about your regime and confident that u would get a good shape then keep continuing doing the same n stop thinking about anything.
What say?

I have unfortunately been down the unhealthy roads of weight loss as a teen. Which is in part some of my issue now as I did do serious damage to my body that has slowed down my system and harmed my organs. That is one of the reasons I am doing the weight watchers. I have to eat a certain amount no higher no lower which I need. Thank you.
