Focusing On Actions...Not On The Outcome Or Results

One of the most important doctrines of spiritual thinking and order is to focus firmly on one's own deeds and not on the fruits of labor. When result is awaited anxiously ,restlessness sets in thereby disturbing the entire mental stance. Hence it is always best to do what you can and leave the rest to God or the indomitable fate. The results should matter the least while pursuing a course of action or undertaking a job. If robust health is desired earnestly the efforts to achieve it would naturally usher in .However anxieties about health would only weaken the body as well as the mind. Everything will happen as it should be . Sow the seeds and the saplings would sprout forth as it should.

This is exactly what Lord Krishna advised his disciple Arjun on the battlefield of Kurukshetra just before the war between the Kauravs and Pandavs. Do your duty and leave the fruits of your actions to themselves. You are a soldier and your duty is to fight and not worry about the results. If you have acted diligently and with sincerity then the results will follow suit. There is no point in worrying about what will take place eventually because you will then become disturbed mentally and you will become anxious and weakness of both body and mind will follow. This is a lesson for all mankind. We tend to give too much importance to the final result and in the process stop enjoying our actions. This results in impatience, anxiousness, tension and depression. We must live in the present, do our duty and move on. We will get our due in course of time and the fruits will depend on how sincerely we have performed the actions.

Cosciousness about one's duties and responsibilities..it is of prime concern.Once when you have done what you could afford to do, it is best to look anxiously about the outcome or end result. Thanks.

I am not sure I agree with this. I think to much action is much to blame for the mess humanity is in right now. Have you ever seen a line of ants going about the business of obtaining food. All is in orderly fashion and the nest is fed properly each day, but if you disrupt this line in any way the ants run all over and the nest suffers, in extreme circumstances it may even die. Humans are like
that disturbed line, each runing it's own way trying to do the whole thing, only looking out for themselves the result is a world in constant war and upset. If instead of running this way and that humanity were to focus on good for all
wouldn't peace have a much better chance?

I fully agree with you and with Srimad Bhagavat Gita where this concept was first given by Lord Krishna to Arjuna during the war of Kurukshetra. A duty bound man should be detached (Vairagya), simply not caring for results. It is indeed amazing how clever and analytical the people of those ages were.
But then, in the life we lead today, we waste time in re-inventing the wheel. It is too much of a burden for us to just follow the scriptures. I hope your discussion will inspire others to learn from scriptures and gain wellness. It really does not matter to what religion the scripture belongs to.
