I enjoy cooking and baking different things. I don't like to cook the same things all the time. I'm always looking for a new and different recipe to try out. But my husband at times can be completely confusing about food. I do enjoy these types of things but I don't brag or talk with my in laws about these it. The other day we went over to my in laws and my soon to be (I hope) sister in law made some soup and cake which was delicious. But I'm sure that it had a ton of calories, as well as fat, sodium, the works . Now if I would have made something like that at home my husband would have complained to the world how bad it is for us. He has these spurts where all he wants to do is eat healthy foods so my in laws basically think that I never make anything that is "tasty" but only things that are healthy for us.
I just find it a little irritating that he makes it seem like I can only make healthy foods or feed us healthy foods when he is the one who would complain about how soon we would have diabetes or heart problems from eating food like that. At the present I could make him three meals a day (like in the old days) with the works but eating foods like that all the time isn't healthy I agree. And I don't need any extra calories . But if I did want us to gain a lot weight and eat hearty meals everyday then I could make it.

Honestly I don't like cooking. Even though for my work I am staying far away from my home and in my room I have to cook myself. The most annoying thing for me is not cooking. In fact I do like cooking but the most worst part is after that washing the dishes used for cooking. Really I don't like it.Therefore usually I have food from outside.

Oh I completely agree with you. Washing the dishes is an awful part of the process. After making a big meal usually the next day we will order some type of carryout so that I can catch up with all the dishes and don't feel like there are again a lot of dishes that need to be done.

I am not very good in cooking. But, baking with friends is my hobby. we can enjoy our free time by baking big, fish or chicken. We baking together, the females making the spices, while males baking the food. We enjoy baking in a long night.

I'm glad to hear that you and your friends enjoy baking together. It would be nice to have get togethers like that and make something that is tasty to share with everyone. It can be a very fun hobby.

And what is wrong with healthy food? When did people get this idea that food cannot be both healthy and delicious? It is an insult to those of us who know how to make beautiful, healthy and delicious food when people go around saying that "healthy" is not "tasty." If it isn't so in your kitchen, you are obviously doing something wrong.

Yeah I agree that healthy food is tasty. I just think a lot people feel that if it doesn't have a lot of sodium, butter, sugar, etc then it's not going to taste good. Or for the individuals who like to get mainly raw vegetables others feel that this doesn't taste good. I'm not sure why people have this viewpoint but many do. My food comes out good either way. Whether it's healthy or has other ingredients in it.

I also don't like the same foods over and over. I usually only grill and my wife cooks the sides but I try to mix it up. I also bake different things, usually only for birthdays but sometimes I get a sweet tooth and bake with dinner. Do u udually cook a desert with your dinner or do u only bake for events and birthdays?

I'm hoping that we will grill a lot this summer. It's nice to be able to grill food it taste so good. Yeah we usually have dessert with our meals. We have to be careful when we do this though we don't want to gain a lot of weight but desserts are so tasty .

I certainly love not just enjoy cooking and baking. And it's kind of funny how I realized we have the exact problem with husbands. I would always choose to cook bland-tasting but overly healthy food. Through the years, he has learned to accept what I cook for him, after all it's for his own good. The only thing he would often ask me is to cook delicious tasting food when we have visitors or when we're hosting. I have no problem with that. I didn't have any professional training but I cook well and I know bow to experiment with ingredients and modify recipes. The same with baking. I have just guts but whenever I try some baking recipe, I am thankful that people eat them.. :D

I'm glad to hear that you cook healthy foods and that your husband eats them. It really is a good thing that we are mindful of the things that we put in our food this way we are able to keep a good eye on our health. I'm glad to hear that others eat what you bake as well.

I agree with you. It is a nice thing when we are able to see that are family enjoys the meals that we make along with the desserts. I do like to cook and bake the one thing though that I don't like is having to do a lot of dishes afterward. I also have to be mindful of watching my calories because I love to cook and bake goodies so i need to be careful.

I love to cook, but I don`t bake too much, except at Christmas time, upon request from my grandchildren. For me, cooking is not only a hobby, but also part of a process to heal my soul. I forget problems thinking about new things to try and I don`t cook following a recipe but creating with what I have on hand.

Yes it is always nice to add new recipes to our collection and fit them in with our meal planning. It gives us something new and different to try. At times we can get into a routine of making the same things regularly and we often have to change that.

I am male but it is my free time hobby to cook but simple and easy to get ready to eat. I not sure why I can't baking a simple cake, maybe the tool I use is not suitable. I did try to see the video in youtube that teach how to bake but the result ahhhhhhh, not good at all.

I'm glad to hear that you enjoy cooking as a hobby. I hope that someday you will be able to master a cake. Can you make pie? If you can make a pie then your good to go, I think pies taste so much better than cake does.
