i discovered Pugad Baboy when my college friend shared it reading with me. i was instantly hooked. i love the political satires embedded on the jokes. i actually love how they present the jokes. some maybe used a thousand times before but when Pugad Baboy uses it, it's still funny.
my favorite characters are the kids especially tiny with some help from ambrosia.

hi there iluvusabado.
i love 'pugad baboy'. it is my all-tiem favorite local comic. i share my love for 'pugad baboy' with ym siblings and we have collected all of the comic books that pol medina jr released. the comic books are in my brother's room and i woudl occassionally stay in his room and read the books.
anyway, just this week, i introduced the book to my daughter. she has been reading it over the weekend and although there are jokes that she won't understand yet (in some cases this is good since some of the pugad baboy jokes are not age appropriate), what matters is that she is interested in reading instead of watching tv or playing computer games. hopefully, she transitions into reading other stuff like short stories, poems, and articles in magazines.
true fact, i actually met the 'inspiration' for the tiny character. i don't recall her name now but she used to sing for a cover band called 'fat session'. she is actually the sister of pol medina jr!!! i used to frequent cats in shangrila makati and the band plays there every tuesday and friday if i'm not mistaken.
cheers and happy mylotting!!!

one of the vocalists of the band was an acquaintance so i got a chance to meet her. i also got their band to perform in my previous company's annual awards night.
i think the 'pugad baboy' comic books are still available in national bookstore branches. it might take some time hunting down the complete series but knowing how popular the books are, i'm sure these are still printed.
cheers and happy mylotting!!!

wow it's a great thing that you met "tiny" i have heard some stories like this that the characters area actually real people in life, but not really with same personalities.
i want to collect the pugad baboy series but aside from being expensive, it's really hard to find the first issues. i guess great things really come at a price.

wow i wonder how it would feel to see the inspiration of a character in comic book you're reading.
when i last visited the national bookstore near us, i oldest issue i saw was 7th or 8th i think. you can rarely see the 1st or 2nd. do you know a place where these issues are still available?

Yeah. I love to read "Pugad Baboy" in my spare time. While do reading them, I laugh every set or story. This is good for filipino to read and make you laugh at times. If we translate it to international languages like English or Spanish, the whole world will totally laugh. Sad makes you turn into a Pugad Baboy.

I was a fan of Pugad Baboy back then. I remember reading it when it first came out. It was hilarious. My collection is only until Pugad Baboy 17, I think. My favorite characters there are Bab, Kules, and most especially Tomas Sabaybunot. Sgt Sabaybunot is the funniest among the characters in the Pugad Baboy franchise in my opinion.

Pugad Baboy helps me to connect with history. The old strips really help me bring back the memories of old news events.
