The so called ‘Brest cancer’ is becoming common this days.it is a type of cancer (malignant breast neoplasm) originating from tissues in breast; the incidence is nearly 100 times more common in women compared to men.
The average age of occurrence in urban cities is is 50 years; but women below 25 too have suffered this.
A friend of mine suffered and died from this; also her twin sister at the age of 50 and her daughter at the age of 22 just after her marriage.
The common symptoms are nipple- retraction, spontaneous-unilateral nipple discharge and presence of painless persistent lumps.
So breast self-examination should be done by all women aged 20 or above. For women 20-40 years old clinical breast examination by a doctor is recommended every 3 years; for 40+ it should be done every year.
For women aged 40-50 X-Ray mammography should be done every year.
In my family we are following this advice.
What about you?
Any friend, relative or family member who suffers from this?
Please share your valued opinion and comments on this topic.

Well, I have done Self Examinations and such. Have never done a mammogram yet due to not driving, and finding the time that would work in my schedule. I always used to worry about cost, but have heard now that it FREE? I know I should consider getting one just to be safe especially since I am not getting any younger. I guess for me, I am a little worried as I have heard about the pain some people have gone thru just to get one.

The last time I had a clinical exam made was about 6 years ago. I should have done it again a few years back but didn't think that it would be really that important. I guess, it is the cost of going to the doctor that hinders one to have an examination or mammogram.

I think the only way to prevent is to practice regular doctor check-up and take food healthy of antioxidant for cancer.
