Have you ever bought something then realized you do not want or do not need it?

I think this has happened to me a few times already, for things i bought or even food that i crave. sometimes i crave for something and when i am halfway through it, i would feel bad and that i would not want it anymore and i would think i should have just bought the waffles (if i was having donuts), or pork if i was having chicken and so on.... With things though, sometimes we would realized we were wrong to buy something just after taking it home, realizing we could do without it and we should have just saved the money haha :D Have you ever had this happen to you? =) Please do share! :D

It has happened to me a lot of times, especially when it comes to food. Whenever i go out to buy food, i always end up coming home with bunch of things i have usually never eaten in my life. It is definitely a bad habit, in many ways :).

Yes I use to do that a lot. Especially when it came to fragrances and lotions. I often would feel like I needed a different type and then I would be so excited when I bought one. But later on I would think that I didn't really need it since I have a lot already. I'm doing so much better now since I'm trying to save. I know have the goal of not really buying anything else until I'm completely out of what I have.

I am what you call an impulse shopper, and I realize that it is not a good thing. I am trying to change all that though, and so I just home most days, as I won'[t be tempted to buy things when I stay home. My finances arren;t all that good, and I realize that it is my fault at least some of it, so in time I hope that things will get better financially, as long as I don't go out and spend, except for things that I really need. I wish my daughter would do the same thing, but she seems to buy things first and not have enough money to pay her bills, and that isn't a good thing at all. She got her income tax back, and now it is all gone, and i am just livid that she could do that and not get her bills paid. Oh well, it isn't my money, so what she does with it is on her and not me, thank goodness. Ishe will be 37 in April, and hasn't grown up yet, Sad, but hey, she isn't living with me, so I am not responsible for what she does. i just hope she realizes that her bills are more important than buying things she doesn't need. Take care!

Hi rose! that is true, often times when we are impulse buyer we tend to buy what we do not need at all. similarly when we are doing the groceries, we should have a list otherwise we end up not buying anything we need to cook, but instead our cart is full of chips and juices. :D haha Bills are really important, what we do now is to staple the payment for the bills so whatever is left at the table, we use that for groceries and anything extra.

If we are truly honest about it, we have all bought something that we didn't really want or need. We are all human and there is no shame in making an unneeded purchase. When we see that special something, we don't seem to think that we can live without it. I don't think there is a right or wrong about it. We are all inspired by different things. When reality enters in hen we come to the conclusion if what we bought was a wise choice or not.

Hi sender! :D i guess it is not really more on being ashamed of what we bought, but it is more like the feeling of having wasted money because of buying something without thinking about it carefully. But yes, that is true. when you do need to purchase something it is you romoney and you just have to know which is wise or not prior to giving up that money so you won't be disappointed later on.

When I used to have a work, I have extra money to spend for myself. And I guess that knowing that I will still earn the following month, I am not that careful in choosing what I want. Well, actually, it is because of my SIL tempting me to buy stuff that are on sale. Like, she'll tell me give me three thousand pesos and I can buy about 5-6 blouses at Mango on their sale day. Guess what, up until the time gave birth t y 4th son, I think I had kept about 12 blouses which I have never used!

Oh this is really something that we all had in mind, many people i guess fall victims to sale and end up buying anything at a cheaper price but not being able to use them.

Hi I am like that. Sometimes i just buy as i like it but only realize that its of no use to me.It happens with things like clothes, ear rings ,lipstick hehe and many more. After everything is spent then i feel ohh my money is wasted . Seriously take the decision that i will not do this again but it happens again and again and is still continuing.

Yeah always happens to me on those times when I should be saving money. I would be tempted to buy hot fudge sundae only to find out going home that someone bought a cake. Both are too sweet and I should be watching my diet. This not only happens with food but with clothes, too. I get attracted to clothes worn by the mannequin and then mistakenly think it would be suitable for me. I end up giving it to my sister anyway.

hi there! :D oh that is really frustrating at times if that happens to me. i remember having bought a chicken and then when i went home my brother also had chickens for dinner... so i would jsut tell my mom she should have told me there is food so i would not have to pay and saved the money hehe :D I do not have a sister though, so when it comes to clothes i really do try not to buy those that i might not want eventually. :D

Very rarely. I generally consider my purchases before I proceed to make them. My boyfriend and I try to avoid engaging in the mindless consumerism that is so pervasive in this culture as well as in so many others.

I think I experienced worse than that. I bought something which I know, I don't need and I will not use. The reason? It was being sold by a high ranking official of our agency. We cannot say no. But other than that experience, I would always see to it that I only buy things that my family needs.

Hi aries, not that is actually a bit different, but still you did bought it.. i guess you felt obliged to buy it because the seller was an official and you fear he might take it against you if you didn't purchase from him. That is probably just an investment - hehe (think of it as that so you won't feel too bad about it already). :D

"Regrets are felt when it's just too late." we you/me buy something without knowing why we buy it because of interesting, like basically is food.. like me there is a time that I eat burger steak w/ rice because i see one of the customers eating it so, my eyes interested to buy it.. but when im eating, im shock when my mouth talk its said "im not hungry at all i cant eat all of that" so instead of eating it all i decide to take it home to give it to my little brother.. i hopefully next time instead of buying burger steak when im not hungry i replace it with cheeseburger with lots of pickles inside uhmmm...

well yeah, that can be it. I guess though it is often as you said too late already because we have bought something out of our wanting it because it looks good, it looks appealing, cute and so on. =)
