I just had a surgery on my knee. This is not the first time that it had been cut open. In fact this is the 4th one so as the nurse said, I am already a profi. So I was confident that i didn't need anyone to take care of me at home. I live and work in different country at the moment but despite the language and difference in the system from my country, I am surviving well. More than well!
But friends insist in coming over to join me for lunch or dinner. One friend, a black American, said he is coming no matter what so I ended up cooking a simple dinner. He even passed out on my sofa bed coz we also drank wine and beer after eating. Then another one came to cook for lunch, an English guy. I got another call this afternoon, just so one friend comes to bring me an apple tart. So I had to wake my lazy butt to have coffee with this guy here in my apartment. I should start going out tomorrow.:)
Sweet!!!

because in places where there is no family or relatives living with you or even nearby, they know what it's like to do everything by yourself, so they usually drop by to see if they can help with lifting or pushing, providing food so you don't have to cook, other household chores or being a messenger or driver for you.
4th surgery? what's wrong with you knee? will that be the last? it must be expensive.

It is because of the job that I do. It is very athletic. So I am thinking now of quitting from it for a year or more and try looking for other ventures. I would like it to be still related to my job so maybe studying is good. Like taking a masters degree.:)

You are lucky to have these friends. Al least you know that even if you are in a different country, still there are people whom you can rely on especially when you need them.
