A keloid is a type of scar which extends beyond the area of the original skin injury or inflammation. It is most common in black individuals. Keloids can occur at any age, but are more common in young adults.body piercings and tattoos, is very popular today.one can help prevent keloids by avoiding tattoos, body piercing.

I have only the piercings in my ears two in each but I love my Tattoos. I have 5 and plans for more. I think if it is an issue for someone then of coarse they should avoid this type of modifications.

NO, I never heard of keliod skin! My Dad had at least ten tattoos he got while he was in the Navy. I have one tiny tat and have 3 piercings in my ears and never had a problem. I wouldn't worry about it because it's probably very rare.

I've had a tatoo on my ankle for over ten years now. I'm happy to say there are no signs of keloid and I'm brown skinned. I beleive keloids form to protect your skin after a dramatic wound like a deep cut that's trying to heal. Tattos are on the surface of the skin.
