I am starting to get burned out at my office job and recently realize that i am counting every hour to run fast everyday. I wanna leave but i still have to work so i can even have source of income for myself and parents. worst, i am asking myself if what will happen if i leave this job. :( im really confused.

hi there gelaytuscano,
yes, i already experienced that thing. that i always counting on the remaining time until its going home time. and during those times, i can really say that my life in that job is like not going fruitful anymore. that i always feel the sadness and not the happiness anymore. hence, i am becoming inefficient to every detail of my job instead of doing it efficiently. until such time i consider my life in that job going to a mess. so i ended up resigning as i don't want to settle things until i get drowned in it. i have decided to leave and divert my attention where i can be more fruitful and progressive.

yeah, what you've just said is very true. I've been thinking of resigning and leaving my job as soon as possible but whenever i tried to, i always fail to do so. there would come a sudden reason that my mind would thought of a thing that refuses to leave my job and then ill back out on giving my boss the resignation letter ready on hand. really confused, but i know there will be a proper time that i will not have any hesitation at all and finally leave me tiring job, physically and emotionally free. :)

a pleasant day gelaytuscano,
i do understand how you feel and it is not new to me. just want to share something with you if you don't mind as this situation will really knock your mind that much. just lift every bits of it to prayers. i am not saying it will give you an abrupt answer, but, prayer will lead you to make the proper decision to come up with a right answer.

Perhaps when I was sick? I Always liked to work plus I don't care that much about others. If I work I forget everything around me (incl. home).

Wow! how i wish i could also do that! forgetting about others at work! haha! would you mind giving tips on how can i ignore and focus on myself and on what i have to do at office? most of the time i am actually disturbed by someone and i really really hate it, o gosh im feel sorry for myself and to that "someone".
thanks! have a blessed day!

i haven't really started out counting whatever time left it is for my work day. but usually i would be like this if i am in a meeting and i am uninterested in the topic or discussion. :D i hardly notice the time when i am in my desk because i often am not bored at my desk because if i am not interested to work first, i can go to mylot first and just type and participate for a while :D

Hearing your side makes me realize i really have to make or do something that can divert my attention onto something i would enjoy, and yes, i agree, from the time i a writing this i am really bored on my desk that why participating on different kinds of discussions and sharing with you guys these different experiences makes my time a little worthwhile. haha! :)
have a blessed day to you! :)

I experienced that before, too. It was in my overseas work back in 2007. Morning was ok because I started work at 9am and lunch break comes at 12:30nn. But the tiring part is from 1:30pm to 6:00pm. I'd have to keep myself busy with some things if I'm already done with most paperwork. Luckily we didn't have much internet access restrictions and I could still respond and discuss on myLot just to lessen the burnout on some days. Just hang in there, it's better to be occupied with work even though you may not like it wholeheartedly than do nothing.
