My interview did not go well at all

It is my very first one, and i studied a bit for it- more like crammed. But what i was expecting was not the same as what happened. Instead of asking me about terms and my experience the interviewer asked me to make a method/program to solve a certain problem and explain it to him afterwards. I was quite rusty and did not know what to do- i was even confused on which language to use.. Oh well, it was good practice.

Well, that is sometimes the problem with applying and interviewing for work as you never know what to expect, and each time even at the same place could be different. I think they want to see how well you can adapt even when they ask you questions that might catch you off guard. Because many times if you are really hired to work there, this is things you will really encounter and they just want to see how you will really handle them, and do you know how too?

Hi lady, so sorry your interview didn't go well, but at least you got some expeiences and now you realize that there are other ways an interview could go and you just need to cover other angles... It was just your first one so don't be to hard on yourself.. Continue your search and good luck....

It happens that interviews don't go the way we expect them to. I have similar experience too. It was tough when you are asked a question you are not ready to answer. But with experience, it will help you improve.

You can never predict what an interviewer will ask. Looks like you were applying for a programmer job. A good interviewer will always go for some confusing questions to test your skills and confidence so you should be prepared for it. Anyhow you gained much needed experience now as how to face an interview so that will increase your confidence for the next time. Good Luck

That must have embarrasing for you. Fumble and fall but learn from the experience. I guess you know where to study now, huh?

Go to as many of these as you can. I think you will find that the interviewer is concerned with how you will act in the real world, after all they should have all your schooling on the paperwork. I have been on both side of the interview process many times and I find if I can get a sense of the person I am talking to I can make a much better judgement. It works both way, after all I'm not sure I want to work with them anymore than they are sure they can work with me. Hang in there.

Same with mine although not with line of work for sure. I got myslef prepared of some questions the interviewer might ask but what I did not expect is the job demonstration and I was very sure I failed on that. Then they called me to set a date for a real interview but I did not mind anymore, I just went there and answer their questions with honesty. Well, it was a good experience after all so no regrets.

There are so many interviews in our life, the first interview is the most unforgettable experience to us,maybe we will be very nervous when we face the interviewers, especially when they asked some questions that we don't know how to answer, but after that we will realize that we have learn a lot from the interview,it is a kind of wealth,it makes us grow up.SO We should be thankful to our first interview. In the end I wish you good luck.
