Do you agree with one of my friends who says that Mylot is a time consuming site, especially if you want to earn by writing online articles or participate in other forums? He says,if you want to reach the payout in Mylot twice or thrice in a month,yo would have to invest a lot of time here and you would be left with a little time for doing other online activities.Do you agree with him?

Your friend clearly knows very little about MyLot. By saying "Tf you want to reach the payout in Mylot twice or thrice in a month ..." he shows that he doesn't understand the basic principle of payments - that payments are only EVER made once a month! You cannot, therefore, take ANY notice of whatever else he says about MyLot.
The only thing I would tend to agree with is that MyLot CAN BE 'time consuming' (even addictive) and that IF you are good at writing and enjoy it, and ALL that you want to do is to maximise your earnings 'per hour', then MyLot is probably not the best place to do it ... but then MyLot never claims to be competitive in that market. It has other advantages for a writer.

You are absolutely right, owlwings.Mylot has multiple other advantages for a writer. It is Mylot that has enabled me to join article writing sites.I have improved my English here.In fact,Mylot is not a site for making money.Whatever we earn here is just a plus. You can't have a sustainable income from the site. This is the fact that I realized too late after joining Mylot.I admit,I try to reach the payout as soon as possible and so try to invest more and more time participating here, but I know it is a site where we earn friends and knowledge and come across various cultures and lifestyles.I get relaxed here.

MyLot should be considered as 'a job' or as 'work' by anyone. It is a fun place where we can discuss every topic under the sun and make friends from all over the world.
On top of that it pays us!
How can having fun and getting paid for it be time consuming?

I admit that I joined Mylot for money, but started enjoying here later.I have felt that it's really a time consuming site, especially for them who mistake it for a job or work. You can't have a sustainable income here no matter how active you are here. Also I would not have joined it had it been not paying for our posts.I don't consider it my job. However you would have to resist the temptation of enjoying here for a long time particularly if you want to continue with your other online activities, especially writing for online article writing sites. The problem is,both enjoying and earning happen here at the same time enticing you to reach you the payout as soon as possible.

I agree that it takes a lot of time in mylot for you to earn reasonable amount. but my take on this is, instead of me spending such time in facebook playing games, or in other forums talking about the sames things i am talking about here in mylot, so why not just do it here instead? Besides, here in mylot if i do spend that much time, i would at least earn some cash, so it is not totally a waste of time... :D thank you!

Participating in Mylot is a totally different experience. In fact, here we earn friends and knowlege rather than money.Money we get here is just a plus.We are paid here for earning knowledge, widening our outlook and relaxing ourselves. That's the uniqueness of the site.Mylot is not a site for making money.I enjoy expressing myself here, and I think,it's the main benefit we get here.

You are right, adhyz. It all depends on how you view Mylot. We get paid here for enjoying interacting with others. And this is uniqueness of this site.I agree with echoforever that money is just an additional benefit that comes rolling in.Here we get paid for improving ourselves, our writing style, our knowledge of English and interacting with a worldwide community. And we can maximise our earnings by adding quality to our posts.

I love helping people see this perspective about mylot. I realize it can be somewhat intimidating but when you are involved and we are, it can be so much fun and that other side of mylot that is daunting or "what do i do here" is completely lost when you participate.

Hi Piggy,my friend is good at multitasking too,but everything he does on the internet is relating to money and only money.Making a little money and having more fun and earning friends, what we enjoy here on this platform,is a nonsense for him.All his time he spends either in writing articles or doing other online activities which too are related to money making.

Anything is time consuming if you aren't happy with what you're doing. Take Facebook for example, an ordinary user wont get compensation from Facebook even if they open it regularly but then millions of people open it everyday as if their lives depended on it. Mylot is a good investment of your time though if you want to practice your writing skills and the way you express your thought and you could use that skill to improve the way you write articles. Also, as a discussion site, it is full of unique and original ideas which you can base your articles from. A mylotter works not solely for the purpose of money, they come here because of passion.

If you change your perspective on mylot and look at the greater benefits it brings to you other than what you'd earn from it, you'd be surprised at how productive you could be.

I have a feeling that you won't get a negative response about mylot if you ask it from mylot users. If they didnt like mylot in the first place, they would have left a long time ago. This is just an opinion though, nothing personal.

Well, since you only get paid once a month if your earnings are over $10 for that month, it is up to you how active you want to be. Personally, it is about quality over quantity so even sometimes when time is limited to be here the more quality responses can earn just as ,much.

Hi Krause, that's the point I tried to explain to my friend.I told him he needn't spend hours in Mylot. If his posts have quality,he will earn more.He did not agree.I have joined Mylot too.And I have joined three article writing sites as well.I don't spend hours participating here, but just because I lack time, not because I have to send articles to any article writing site.

Yes! That is another great aspect about myLot as well. So many people do not realize this fact. They will rush and rush thinking they need to do a lot to be paid, when in reality, doubling their time on response for the quality is going to do just as much if not more for them here.
I always like to say that time in myLot actually pays off so much more than any other site. Most sites you do have to rush to get anything done in time for the payment process. Here we can take our time, enjoy yourself, go at your own pace, make friends . . . and so on, and get paid!

If your friend will not spend time here in myLot, he or she won't earn any amount of money. We all spend time here to earn. Your friend should choose between myLot and his or her other earning sites. Mylot isn't forcing him or her to stay here. Right?

Yes i agree with your friend that Mylot can be very time consuming. Tho if you don't think of it as a job or to earn money and just have fun with it then it wont seem as time consuming. It does seem time consuming for me sometimes but not all the time if i'm having a good day and not thinking of the money and being bored. Sometimes Mylot can be fun and you can make friends so that makes it not as time consuming.

I too agree with you and my friend. You both are right.I have experienced it myself.I would like to admit that I had joined Mylot for making money.I began enjoying it later. But what happens is that when you enjoy here, you earn as well.Post a response, intiate a discussion or add a comment and you earn.Your earnings go up and up alluring you to reach the payout asap. And if you are trapped by the temptation, you go on participating here and end up having no time for writing articles for online article writing sites.

I don't find mylot time consuming as it is fun, and i don't think about the money at all. I don't spend all that many hours in here, as I do have other things to do as well, but if this was my only site,I would be here more and I still wouldn't find it all that time consuming. If others would reaize that mylot is more about having fun than the money, they would do better, and wouldn't have to be here all day long to make money. Besides, you won't get rich from mylot anyway. Take care, and have fun.

Making fun,and that too without making a lot of money! It is something my friend views nonsense. He writes articles for online article writing sites and spends hours to draw traffic to his articles.I asked him whether he thinks he would get a multimillionaire by writing articles and doing other money making, online activities. He remained mum.

Yep that's what I feel as well. It isn't "time consuming' because for me it is so fun that I don't realize the time I spend here any way. If someone doesn't have that mind set about mylot then they might start to think of all the time they are "wasting" by doing myLot.

myLot is certainly time consuming : there are days where I spend more time to respond to my PMs than to the discussions. I think that your friend did not saw the true interests of myLot : I see this site more in terms of friendship/fun/discussing than in terms of earnings, so I am satisfied with them.

A person who enjoys here at Mylot do not think of it as time consuming. People stay around because they have fun in participating with the discussions posted by other members and the earnings that they get from it only becomes secondary.
Realistically speaking, if you would be relying on online earning sites as your means of income, then it is really not enough. It is still best to look for a stable offline job or a homebased online job which you can get from sites like Odesk and Freelancer.

Hi jenny,my friend has joined odesk, but I don't know how much he earns there. My experience says that you can't have a sustainable income online.Rather we would be better off with our daily offline jobs. And yes, what life is if there is no fun in it.I enjoy participating here only for one or two hours and these two hours relax me for the rest 22 hours.I don't agree with my friend.

I'm guessing the person means by twice or three times a month out of here you would have to make $20 or $30 since the min is $10. I think it can be done depending on what you do want to do to make money on here. I can make $10 in on month just by doing discussions alone and in the past when I didn't have two kids to look out for and take care of I could almost reach $20 in one month and that was doing several things on here to make that amount.

But I am sure,ShyBear, you must be enjoying particpating here now and in the past when you didn't have kids. Then,I mean in the past, you must have much more time to be active on Mylot. What matters is enjoying participating here, and this is something my friend does not like, because he can't earn 10 dollars in a month participating here for two or three hours per day. That's the his problem. He wants to make money online. For him paying internet charges without earning anything worthwhile is nonsense. He never gets online for making fun.

Actually he has a point because if he concentrated on this place alone, there is a possibility of earning more. But on the other hand,if he devote some of his time to write articles with other sites, time will come that he will be earning passively from those sites while participating here.
Well it's a matter of choice. Lat us just respect his decision.

I got started a few years ago trying to make money online. I found an article that told of a few legitimate sites where you could make money taking online surveys. It was really geared for high school students, homemakers, and shut ins, but I wanted to try. I joined every one I could find and finally weeded out all the scams.
I then learned that you could write articles and reviews online for money also. I will tell you right now that it takes a lot of work to amount to anything. I found Mylot and at first it was one of the sites I hoped to make money with but if that is what you are here for it is hard to make the ten dollar payout in a month.
I have grown to like Mylot as a relaxing place to write and get away from all the other distractions in my life. You can also use this site to start topics if you need advice on any subject because you reach so many people that you will always get a good answer. Mylot has become a refuge for me and most of the regulars feel the same way I think. I can't really speak for them. Give it a try and you might find it relaxing and then when you do get the payout it's a nice little bonus.

Yes,making money, sufficient money online is not easy.Internet is fraught with scams. And even if you have joined really paying sites,I don't think you can make a sustainable income here. You can't have a sustainable income even by writing articles online either. So far as Mylot is concerned, here we make fun, make friends, widen our outlook, learn a lot and even earn a little for doing all this.My friend does not understand this.Mylot is not a site for making money.

Just do not get stresssed out and have fun to. if it is consuming it is because that is what we chose to do..yet alot of other places are to..so consider it a welcome place to meet people , enjoy, and make a penny as you do..

You are right. There is perhaps no other site that pays us to make fun and learn and widen our outlook. If you view it as a money making site, you would get disappointed. In fact, here we are paid for doing nothing other than making fun and learn and improve our Rnglish in the process. We dont do anything for making money. What we earn here just come rolling in.

yup, i agree with him. no matter how much we can earn here, still mylot pays us just little money. I'm active here but not that active. I write here almost everyday and I write at least three or four comments (i try to write as qualified as I can cos I'm not an English native), still i need about three moths to hit my payment limit. so yes, I agree with your friend that yo must spend a lot of time here, write many many postings to be able to hit payment limit twice or three times a month. but of course I don't agree with his saying that Mylot just wastes our time. no at all. I mean, being here is our choice. if you want to earn much here, you must work hard too. but if you just take this activity for fun not for money merely, you can just spend minutes or an hour here just to write three or four comments. Mylot is really worth doing. I was so happy finding Mylot few years ago. though Mylot doesn't help me paying my credit card, but i always be grateful every time I hit my payment limit. so which one become your choice and need cos everyone has their times, needs and goals..

The problem is that we view Mylot as a money making site which it is not.Naturally when you earn a little here even after working for hours, you get disappointed. In fact,Mylot is not a money making site. It's a platform where we make fun, learn, improve our English [Although it is not an English teaching site either] and for all this make a little money. You can say the money we get here is just a by-product.

I do agree with this I believe that mylot is a time consuming site and to reach pay out does take a long time so if you a member of mylot purely for the money then you are on the wrong site. I like to earn money online so I prioritize other sites first as I can earn money on there sites much quicker so Im not on mylot as much as I like. I do find mylot very addictive and interesting because you are listening to other people's opinions and having rich discussions so it isn't a waste of time for that reason.

For me, to be able for us to earn in any writing sites , we should invest a lot of time in writing or participating. It needs effort and if we really have a target within months then it is a pressure. I think better to enjoy every moment while logging in such a writing sites than put an effort and set a deadline. I think better to treat writing sites a hobby and not a pressure one.

Hi kokomo,he is my friend and I know he writes his articles at night and sends them in the morning.Everyday he writes at least four or five articles for the sites that he has joined. It's really not an easy job.In fact,it is demanding. He tries to draw traffic to his articles. But how much he earns I don't know.He says that paying internet charges and earning a little money is worthless and meaningless.
