A very shy applicant...

This afternoon, I was on my way to buy someting to eat when a young lady approached me. She was asking if I knew the place where I was working. LOL. I pointed her the place and told her to ring the doorbell outside the gate. She asked me if she could wait for me but I told her to go ahead so that she could have her interview. Then, I bought my food. When I came back, she was still outside the gate and she didn't ring the doorbell. I was so disappointed. How can she get a good job if she's that shy? I guided her to the front door and I called our boss. They only talked for awhile and I heard her saying goodbye to our boss. I wonder if she got the job. I hope she will be more confident next time. She won't get any job if she will show that attitude again.

It is the nature of many people in our country, especially those who do not have the training on things like this to be shy. People need to be trained and coached on how to conduct one's self in an interview.

Hi Cutie18f and prashu228. Yes, I guess some people need to be trained and coached but I hope they'll do it before their interview. They're letting their opportunities to pass if they go there unprepared. Thanks for posting and happy mylotting.

I haven't seen that kind of shyness in any person, maybe she doesn't have much friends. I hope she gets a job soon ...

Maybe you're right. Maybe she's an introvert person. She needs to be confident. She's already a university graduate now so she should act maturely. Thanks for posting and happy myLotting.

It is very common for people to be shy when it comes to being interviewed. I know i have been shy at times on interviews. What i do is just after they ask me something or tell me to describe something i sit for a minute and think what to say and then i say it slowly and carefully. I am shy by nature so being shy on an interview is even more common for me. I just take a deep breath sit quiet for a minute like i'm thinking of what to say then i choose my words carefully. Yes i hope that lady gt the job and wont be so shy next time.

Yes, it's common to be shy but she needs to be confident at times like this. Getting a job is like a competition nowadays. Bosses like assertive applicants. Thanks for posting and happy mylotting.

haha yes i have seen such people who feel very shy when they attend the interview. I never understood the reason. May be they are shy to talk to new people .But once they start it they will know that its not good and try to change themselves. Hope she do the same and get a good job.

Yes, you are right. I guess we shouldn't be that shy to get a job. We should show confidence to be chosen among the other candiadates. I hope she'll learn from her experience. Thanks for posting and happy mylotting.

Maybe it was her first experience of having an interview. As she gains more experience, hopefully she will also gain more confidence.

Maybe it was her first time to be interviewed. You're right. Maybe she'll be more confident as the days go by. Let's hope she'll realize that being shy won't give her any benefit. Thanks for posting and happy mylotting.

Yes, you are right. The first attitude that we should possess when we are applying a job is having a confidence. Bosses or the Human Resource staffs really impress to the applicants who has a self confidence. I remember when I was still applying for a job.I was always rejected I think almost 20 companies rejected me. I felt so frustrated that time but the only thing that helped me in always applying was I gain confidence and I was not getting nervous every time I am attending interviews.

Yeah I guess even if we are shy, we shouldn't show them or else, our chance to get the job will just vanish. We should be confident in order to be hired. Thanks for posting and happy mylotting.
