silent water runs deep. . .

As I passed by the HR dept. today, I saw the payroll master and the accountant having an exchange of words. The accountant was just cool, but with a not smiling face, but the payroll master, raising her voice and was so angry!
The payroll master, is a very kind and soft spoken woman. I never saw her so angry as today, and was surprised that she can raise her voice up like that.
So to myself, I said , indeed “silent water runs deep”, and when it’s full , it will spill, like what she just did.

Yes, because silent people doesn't announce what they will do to retaliate. But talkers would announce and eventually will not do it.
I think i am with the latter.

Maybe your payroll master was really really mad because of a huge mistake done by your company accountant. Being a silent person does not mean that you can't express your feeling of anger.

No it's the other way around. She made deductions on the salaries of the accountants without even notifying them why it is so.
So, the accountant plus the others pointed out to her the said mistake so she was angry that she said she will abide by it next time and that they should stop reiterating to her the said mistake.

I doubt the expression fits to that woman. People Always being gentle, friendly do have their border too one can cross. But a silent water is someone who will never show his/her real personality in present of others, they are the backstabbers! At least that is what the expression means in my language.

I agree that it is also applicable to back stabbers.
Well, i liken her to that, since she's always reticent and so kind. And at one instant, she became a ferocious tiger!

Indeed! And no matter how nice or kind a person seems to be or for real, they also have their limits, their patience also runs out. For me it is really scary to make a nice and very patient person be so angry because that would mean that what I did was so mean and I have crossed the line so much.

That's true Raine. It only means that what angered her so much was way very mean , that she snapped from being so ever kind.

yes indeed. every person has 2 sides that both good and bad. sometime we stunned by the good side and we never thought about the other side.
it happened to me last time. wow i was soooooo speechless when i saw that at the office.
one of my friend told me, never struck by the goodness of our spouse or friend, because one day she / he might be made us stunned.

What is fascinating is that they are both a person of few words. They are both so kind and soft spoken.
But the male officemate, maintained his composure though with a sour face. But the woman , she has really exploded. I was speechless, i just watch them silently and just chose to leave them.

sometimes when we are angry is too much better to keep silent.. well I also once saw a person who would never get angry but once that she became angry was really terrible and unbelievable.

One who is always silent , would always just keep quiet when angry. But once, he/she has reached her/his point of saturation he/she will really explode.

you can only push someone so much. what i wonder is how when i a person is nice all the time, everybody is fine with that. when you are pushed and you go off, then your mister bad guy.

What i discovered also when i shared the incident with an office mate, she told me something about the payroll master.
She is said to be a nagging woman. The former nanny of her kid resigned because she's always nagging her and do not give her a salary commensurate to her work. Besides, she lets her work other works in the house other than what was agreed upon , to be a nanny to her kid.
So, she's a different woman in the office ?

Yes, i do believe it too, professor. She has been silent all the time, but when she can't take it anymore, she burst.
I for one , was silent, hearing her outburst. It's a good thing , the male employee was just calm.

Yes, that's how i compared her to that saying, because she is a silent woman, soft spoken and kind. Yet, she's like a lion when she got angry.

I also think that, that saying is true.. i also have friends who seems to be very quite but when they're into something.. like being excited,or sometimes when they get really really mad.. they're like urrrrhhh grrrr.ANd just shout all there HATE out!. hehe and it's kinda funny for me. We'll be surprise to know that a lot of silent or shy people can do the most extreme things...and yes like water, when its full, it spill, hehe
