I dropped a whole half gallon of milk on the kitchen floor this morning. Since I need it for my cereal I had to brave the storm and walk 5 minutes to the grocery store. It's not cold, windy or even slippery but I'll tell you it is WHITE out there. I usually wear sunglasses when it snows because it's so bright it bothers my eyes. This time I forgot them not realizing how white it is out there. It's actually brighter than the sun is sometimes. The snow looks so beautiful because there hasn't been much traffic but by tonight it's not going to be so pretty any more. Are you braving the blizzard or do you live in a place where it doesn't snow? Do you wear sunglasses when your out in the snow?

That's what I'm afraid of. I just moved from the tropics (Philippines) last December, and I am not really used to the cold. As I drove this morning to the school, the wind is really so strong and so chilly. And I thought there's even a storm warning sounded during lunch. The sky about miles from where I am looks so dark and gray. I gotta bundle up and cover my car.

They forecast snow last night and sure enough I woke up to snow, but certainly not as bad as it was last month, and most of it was washed away by the ensuing rain we had. We are fortunate in that we don't get it as bad as some countries do. It's just when we do get bad weather conditions everything seems to grind to a halt and I hate being trapped indoors, and we both know what happens then eh! We eat LOL. I never wear glasses in the snow, mind you I don't even wear them in the sun either.

What a great photo! Was this by your apartment complex? It's so pretty and I guess it was worth the walk to the store. It's good it's not that far from you. The store I walk to is about that far too but I wish people would shovel their sidewalks after it storms...that would help a little.
I keep forgetting to take my sunglasses with me. I don't have a car but I use my daughters every couple of weeks for shopping and I always forget my sunglasses. If I had my own car, I'm sure they would be sitting in it so I couldn't forget. I need to keep remembering because it bothers my eyes too.
I wonder if that store is getting a lot of business today.

I love the snow. That's one of the (many) reasons why I have to be in a northern climate.
One of the many things that I greatly missed while I was trapped in Florida for a year was snow.

No, I was saying that I missed the snows of the North while I was stuck in Florida. I have heard that northern Florida can get a few flurries, but I never witnessed that while I was there. No... It was either that weird sunshine or tornado warnings.

Where I live it does not snow that is one of the reasons I live here. Couldn't take the winters of New York anymore. I never wore sunglasses in the snow, never thought to due to the brightness. I feel so bad for all who are dealing with the snow today. Its pretty to look at if you don't have to go out in it. When you have to drive or walk it can be very dangerous. Take care and be careful.

Thankfully I don't drive so I don't have to worry about shoveling a car out. I'm looking out the window and watching all those people with cars having a hard time because there is so much snow. My daughter grew up her in MA and lived through a lot of winters. She's in California now and will not come back to live. She loves when we have bad weather and she's walking around in shorts.

Hmmmm...
Which NY did you live in? NYC that gets shut down by a few inches a year, or NY where it snows from Nov-April in feet every year?

I have to say this wasn't the first real blizzard I have lived through. Back in the 70's it was so bad that the military had to come out. Cars were covered completely by snow and you couldn't even see them. This one wasn't that bad. We didn't even lose electricity!
