america may have elected its first black president, but racism still exists around the world. here's a part of the article: ABC News presenter Jeremy Fernandez says he has been racially abused on a Sydney bus in front of his young daughter. He said he had to restrain himself from punching the woman who was abusing him in the face as that "would not be the right thing to do." Fernandez tweeted on Friday morning that a female bus passenger had called him a "black c---" and told him to "go back to my country". see the whole article here: http://goo.gl/VmuOT i was really saddened with the incident since it's australia. it's just sad the he's with his child and the woman was also with her primary-schooled children. but i admire him that eh did the right thing and not punched the woman. what's worse is he was blamed by the bus driver for the incident.

well some white Australians are so proud people, forgetting that they just migrated there too, for the real owners of Australia were aborigines.

Yes, I don't know if you know, that there was a certain Filipino being held in one of the oldest jail, (now a museum) for heinous crime. My sisters told me, they went there, and so his name and his waxed statue.

in our country, there's been a huge conflict between the muslims and the government which is dominantly ruled by christians. some moro rebels feel that the central government doesn't really care for them and they want independence. glad that there has been a peace agreement approved last year though they are still working on it. i really wish this will the end of the strife because a lot of innocent people are affected.

Not surprised. Some form of inequality will still be present no matter how governments pass laws. It's about the attitude and ignorance of the people themselves. If one party is suffering economically, they usually lash out to people who tihnk are benefiting from their misery. there are cases where one member of the majority loses an opportunity, it's always connected to one member of the minority getting the chance. This creates an inequality in one party's mind. These kind of tensions can only be resolved with an open mind and understanding between peoples in a society. No matter what the govenrment does, if some people don't accept it (and governments can force their people on this issue). One election only sweeps the issue under the rug at the moment.

people always try to find someone to blame with all the hardships they experience. and most of the time they are the minorities. i agree with you that a change in leader will not truly eliminate this type of issues. there really needs a moral and cultural revolution so that we could all accept each other despite a lot of differences.

There will be a time where racism will be so miniscule to the extent where most people will be able to tolerate it, but as of now, it certainly isn't the time. Like "Nooneknows" said, racism isn't leaving. As long as ignorance exists, racism is inevitably created. As long as there is racism, there will inevitably be people who can tolerate it, and those who will not take it the most optimal way thus possibly pushing this progress backward.

i agree with you here. racism equates to ignorance. i wish there will be a way to connect the entire human race into one so that together we can make a true change.
