Does anyone ever really make a New Year's Resolution?

This is something that has been bugging me for sometime. People are always asking me, every year, 'hey vik, what's your new year's resolution?' and I just think nobody sticks to them. You can make a really life changing resolution, and within weeks/months you've given up. What exactly is the point.

I've only made one that I've actually kept and that was not to make them any more. I decided years ago that instead of making a new year's resolution I would make a list of goals I wanted to achieve for the year. That has worked out so much better.
New Year's resolutions are a joke, I don't know of anyone that's kept them. Now goals on the other hand are something you can work towards.

I've set myself some goals, mostly the cliche get married, have kids, be happy, that sort of thing. It may seem easier to make one New Year's Resolution and be done with it, but nobody takes them seriously.
