Sending your kid out with lice

My friend just messaged me on Facebook, she recently moved back here. She babysits her step sisters kid, and her brothers kid. Her step sister, sent her kid over to her house with lice. Now my friend has lice, her boyfriend has lice, her brothers kid has lice, and her SIL has lice. She was ticked off because now, they all have to try and get ride of it. She had called her step sister asking where she can get this shampoo stuff, she then started screaming at her for accusing her or blaming her about the lice (now my friend doesn't work, doesn't leave the house), and her sisters kid was the only one there. I would never send my kids out knowing they had lice, just irresponsible and rude.

Lice? You mean hair lice. Ohhh! My grandnephews and grandnieces used to have lice and when they come over, they would scratch and scratch. I did not send them away for fear that I myself would get lice. Instead I solved the problem. It is just so easy to remedy. If they can't find shampoo then use vinegar, or hot olive or coconut oil to kill all those lice.

There are different kinds of lice? Yes, head lice. I (*knock on wood*) have never had lice, and I hope never to get it.

Your friend step sister might not have known that her kids has lice. Well you'll never know anyway where you get it and how. In my place if kids are infected with lice.. some people blame the shampoo or too much sun exposure. Having lice got my curiosity and took me into research. I have found out though that lice don't live on dirty hairs but with the clean one. Get rid it with lice shampoo and comb it with super fine space comb. Honestly, having lice is a crazy feeling thing. All I wanna do is take off my head and put my eyes in my hands so that I can clean my hair myself. hahaha.

She actually knew the kid has lice, she has had lice for a number of months now. The mother wont do anything about it, so the kid keeps getitng it over and over again.

that is just plain old disgusting. and it's funny because they want to be all in denial that there kid has lice instead of treating it.

It is rude, when my kid once had it because of the nanny who looked after it had it also, i don't let her go visit my other niece and nephews as they might acquire it and it can be embarrassing with her scratching all the time. What i did was eliminate it first, the shampoo is effective.

I agree completely, this girls stepsister is very irresponsible and immature. The child has had lice for a number of months now.

I agree with ya, lucky I don't get lice. People seem to never want to take the blame. I could easily take the blame and not care all that much. Some people.:(

I am the same way, I would treat it and make sure it is gone. Instead of denying it, and not treating it to make it a vicious cycle.

Why does reading your topic makes my head itchy thinking about lice? It's normal for kids to have lice but what her mom did by screaming is not. Well maybe she felt ashamed that her kid is having lice and she's not able to attend the need of cleaning up her kid's head but she shouldn't be screaming, instead they should have a group cleaning of their heads.

I would start out by telling the person that my children had lice. And if she knew, she should have shampooed her children`s hair with a special shampoo. I understand that sometimes children get lice and other bugs by playing with other children, but parents should be careful.

It's normal that she is frustrated and angered. Lice can make anybody mad. I think that her step SIL should not have to be so irresponsible. I think that those affected by lice should get treatment and rid of it as soon as possible.
