There are many ways you can teach a child. It all also depends on your child. You can search on the internet what children are teached who have the same age as yours. I can find everything about schools in our country on the internet, even print the lessons. I also bought a book about what children need to know after the first 8 years (they go to school here at the age of 4). Next to that I teach them about their interests, plus we do a lot of creative activities. The last two subjects my youngest two (9 years old son and 7 years old daughter) were interested in were: anorexia nervosa and alzheimer's disease).
They also can cook, knit (learned that af few weeks aga and made their own teddy bears incl. Mr Bean his teddy, scarfs etc), started to learn English, German and Hungarian.

Hi friend, you are doing the right thing in our home. I did the same thing before sending my two sons in the school. You should first teach your child your letters. If you get any book for teaching of letters with picture, then it is best, like A for Apple, B for bus, C for cat, D for dog etc.
