But since I have been diagnosed as a diabetic I havent been able to enjoy a very good one. So today I am going to try my hand at making a homemade strawberry shortcake. It isnt gonna be completly sugar free but it will only have like 6 grams of sugar per serving. Hope it turns out great.

You can make an awesome straberry shortcake without a bit of sugar. You can use any kind od sucralose (Splenda) instead of sugar. And the fructose in the berries is not to much as to worry about. Luck!

If you control your diet by other menas, I bet you can eat a small portion of your favorite dessert once in a while. I`m glad you liked it.

i am sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but glad to hear that you are learning to live with it. my doctors have me on some medications for my mental illness that they say will make me diabetic. i don't want to be. it scares me so much. what are the symptoms you had to let you know something was wrong?

I was diagnosed when I was pregnant. They thought at first it was just due to being pregnant but found out later that I was one before just didnt know it. But I was constantly tired. My feet got tender. Felt like needles on my feet. Just watch what you eat and exercise you might be able to hold it off but there isnt any telling. But having to stick yourself with a needle three times a day just to keep track of your sugar isn't fun. Good luck and hope it don't come to you becoming a diabetic.
